This has probably been spoke about before so apologies in advance

I struggle when I hear this statistic that 80% of women are only attracted to 20% of men

Not because I disagree with it but because it's also probably true the other way round as well

I mean most people look just normal with nothing particularly remarkable about them looks wise and that's across male and female and then there are the exceptions (the 20%) who at first sight are very physically attractive or shaggable but that is just sex

I just think this statistic is blown out of all proportion and it only really serves to make the other 80% feel more and more hopeless

I just needed to get this off my chest but I might as well ask what other people think about this as well

I just adore how so many men think they're are supposedly superior because they have bigger muscles or whatever, and men are in charge of everything and change the world and it should stay that way, women are too weak and emotional and whatever, but when women aren't interested in having them for a partner, the menfolks' egos shrivel up like a raisin because how dare the wimmen think they don't need a man in their life to be content.

But seriously, do men really think everything else they do is pointless unless they have woman by their side watching with mild interest? I guess so, since male supremacy and incel extremism is an epidemic.

80/20 is a theory promoted by incel culture, and doesn't have a strong bearing on reality.

You can debunk this sort of thing by taking a wander around outside, anywhere pretty much and seeing the different types of couples that exist.

Sometimes women date downwards.

I mean, there are some inequalities in the dating arena, with particular difficulties for some men attaining any sort of romantic/sexual relationship or partner, but this theory is a specific exaggeration and cites arbitrary numbers and is way too general to be taken seriously.

It's a load of rubbish.

Incel culture as a whole takes some elements of truth and then exaggerates them or spins them to mean something else/worse and is generally toxic.

I find it shocking that anybody with a shred of self respect would identify as an incel, even if that is what they are or were, in practice.

It is best for anyone not to go near such people who are an active or willing part of that culture.

It's another world innit

I think maybe some people want to be part of some kind of club or movement or even revolution if you wanna go to that extreme

It's like people just huddling together to find some kind of warmth in an otherwise cold and cruel world but I wish they wouldn't be so toxic about it. It's that that I don't get

It's like they're leaning into the poo and enjoying the stink

I think that your last sentence sums the situation up pretty nicely.

Apparently it was a woman who started the whole movement, though it was a lot more innocent in its intentions to begin with, versus the incel community of today.

Quote:
When Alana started a website for lonely people struggling to find love, she had no idea it would become linked to a community of hate and anger directed at women, which would ultimately lead to the deaths of several innocent people in her home city.

I sometimes think I'd probably be an incel if I raised the bar a bit higher

Well, even if you were an incel in practice in such a scenario, you wouldn't have to identify as an incel, or join any such community. There is always that. :skull:
