Eligible Odd-Bods! - The Premier Aspergian Singles List
Hello All
I have had many Interests over my life time but over the years
I have found what interests me and what I wanted most is what I now have, my son.
I am 45, hazel eyes, brown hair, 5'10
I still have issues with reading between the lines with people but not as bad as I used
to be, but because of this I tend to have a vary blunt personality, which makes it easy
to read between my lines.
I like most kinds of music except disco, opera, most rap, and cry in my beer music,
I most generally like to keep up with the modern musics, going out to eat now and then,
snuggling up to a soft and warm smile, going to movies, going to concerts,
watching kids play in the parks, being a good father, fixing things around the home,
stuff like that.
I like warm rainy days, spring flowers, a kind and smiling face, children and their laughter,
the simple things, I like to be romantic to the girl I am with and a gentleman throughout
the relationship, I do not care for judgemental people, I tend to let people judge them
selves out of their own actions while I know them, I hardly have any expectations of
others past the expectations of them being civil and honest until they prove otherwise.
I am not going to make a big list of likes and dislikes and hobbies, tis true I have had
many in my life, but I found people get great expectations from them and if those
standard are not met it causes problems, when its much more easy and exiting to
just enjoy the person(s) for whom and what they are and find ones self indulged in
self discovery's along the way, age of a person does not matter to me when considering
a mate, its more of a matter of personality and maturity, although I tend to have
a youthful kid side to me my self and like the same now and then with the right person.
I have a son, at the time of this posting he is almost 2 in one month from now.
he comes with the package, his mother shows little interest in him past wanting
to be a spiteful thorn in my side, so I have him most of the time and he is my joy
and world.
the picture you see of my avatar is him and me when he was just a few months old :O
I live on the Idaho/Washington border in Newport (at this time),
and I am willing to travel to places within 100 miles to get to know someone new to
have in my life, even if its to just to end up being/becoming new friends.

Well, here goes a long shot, but who knows.
Essentials:
I am 21 years of age (in a few weeks)
I live in the North of the UK
I am straight
Life/Hobbys/etc:
My life is quiet at the moment. I am trying to get my self to a stage where I can work.
I haven't really had a close friend since I left college, and that was sevral years ago. I suppose I don't get out much.
I survive like that, but sometimes it is lonely.
I read a lot of philosophy in my spare time and do a lot of thinking. I think it is important to think, even if you never have answers.
Bad Points:
I live very remotely
I have little money
I'm prone to depression
I do not sleep well
I have little self esteem much of the time
I have very little emotional language
Sometimes I would rather be alone then with people
I sometimes make social mistakes
I get very nervous and stressed around even people I know well
I dislike my hair and always keep it short, or sometimes shave it off
Sometimes I find it hard to motivate my self to take care of my self
Good Points:
I am not shallow
I am honest and usually frank
I am almost always friendly to people and never intentionally rude
I think a lot
I usually see the best in people
I am always willing to make a new friend
I often make people laugh
I think I am easy to talk to
I don't think I am boring
Anything else you will have to find out your self, I have alredy given far too much away.
I suppose a lot of that isn't most peoples cup of tea, but thats it.
Im mainly looking for a friend and someone to talk to. Someone who doesn't take things too seriously.
Hey, my name is Ben, and I'm a straight 18-year old guy living in San Jose, CA. My main interests include old video games, anime, and 80s music. I'm in my first year at DeAnza College where I plan to major in music and later start a career as a professional musician or record producer.
Now moving on to some of the more important stuff. I tend to be pretty talkative online, but offline I mostly keep to myself. Sometimes I'll look sad or down in the dumps even though I'm really just fine, so don't be afraid to approach me. I usually prefer to talk to people either online or in person (although that tends to be more awkward, obviously). I've been told by a few girls that I'm a really sweet guy, and I think that's very much true. I'm known for being very nice to people in general, that is unless you happen to be one of my siblings. Unlike the AS stereotype, I like to be affectionate and considerate to people I have an attraction to. I'm always willing to do favors (not of the sexual kind, so get your mind out of the gutter) for people, and I like to cuddle, hold hands and all that mushy stuff.
If you want to know more, don't be afraid to either PM me or IM me through AIM.
Hello, my name is Kevin.
State of Oh, 21
I am a juggler, writer, doodler, pen-critiquer, inventor (of ideas), wannabe poolshark, skier, cow-tipper, HST fan (not just Raoul), frivoling politico, paper plane maker, recovered K'NEX addict and tobacco connoisseur.
I spend my days with all my worries and all my pleasures forever on my mind. I'm quiet, but I can talk a lot. I'm known to disappear, but I'm really always there. I don't expect any replies to this, but thats cuz my cute face is missing! Stupid computers. Its not worth the hassle right now to get an image on here.
What else to say? I hate PMing people for a purpose such as this, and I hope you do, too! PM me! But not if you want to! Or just state your purpose! Don't use so many exclamation marks, I might get scared!

My name is Kevin too. I am 35, just figured out that what has been different about me my entire life must be asperger's. I have had a hard time relating to other people and would love to find people who communicate on a similar wave length. I work long hours, but in my rare free time, I play around with blacksmithing, and homebrewing. I love going to Sci- fi conventions. I have a house that I am in the process of remodeling. I am a libertarian, I love to read, fascinated by history and architecture. I love exploring downtown and out in the country, looking for antique stores, and restaurants that I haven't tried yet. On a really, really good day, when there is a gifted photographer around, I look like this.
It's a pity I'm too old for you.

I'm male by the way (yes, I know my avatar is misleading).
Essentials: 19 year-old straight male music major in north-east Ohio (Guess which city)
Interests:
Piano, singing (opera), composing, conducting, philosophy, meta ethics, metaphysics (primarily epistemology), politics, linguistics
I just had to reply --- I'm not what you're looking for (I'm not straight), but I just had to tell my best friend about you and she said I should write back.
Given, we're quite a bit older -- we're both recently turned 29. But this is why your post got my attention. Your user name, for one. She just performed in Don Giovanni this summer in Rome, Italy, as Donna Elvira. She has her MA in Vocal Performance, and is working on getting opera auditions. She loves to sing and (obviously) loves opera.
Also, she's fluent in German as she actually IS German. She moved here with her family when we were in High School.
She was amazed when I told her about your post. We know people who are happy for her and everything, but not actually into opera, which makes it hard to talk about it..
I don't know if you'd have any interest in talking to her (on any level) or not, but if you do, let me know.
Sincerely,
Amanda
Heh, I think I'm going to throw my hat into this ring.
My name is Jacob. I'm 27 years old. I live in Asheville, NC - I'm a geek, a gamer, a psychedelic trance DJ and a general weirdo. I enjoy reading science fiction and fantasy - more science fiction, lately. I also like to read any kind of material that educates me about a subject that I find fascinating.
Dancing to drum and bass and psytrance is one of my favorite things to do in the entire world. The only thing that may top it is administering the above forms of music so that other people can dance to it. I'm told that I'm a good dancer, but I also find that my ability to do so completely shuts down when I'm aware that people are looking at me. :)
I'm the type of person who has been confirmed to go completely weak in the knees when a cute, bespectacled girl starts talking excitedly about plant genetics.
In short... I'm too geeky for the freaks and too freaky for the geeks. :)
Why not?
My name is Amanda, I'm 29, (openly) lesbian, single for a little over 3 years now. I didn't want to jump from one relationship to the next -- it wouldn't be fair to me or the new person. Now I'm at a point where I'm interested in a relationship again. Long-term relationship. I have short brown hair, green eyes, and glasses. I have regular glasses and Harry Potter glasses -- whichever strike my fancy at the moment. I've also been told I have the most natural Daniel Radcliffe looks some people have seen. I can 'be Harry' better than some of those boy models you see on the 'hire to impersonate at your next party' websites. I used to look a fair bit like Sharleen Spiteri of the UK band Texas, but then I cut my hair and the resemblance seemed to go with it. But I make a darn cute Potter!
I'm 5'6 1/2", slim/slender, which I come by naturally thanks to my Mom. I exercise sometimes... well, pretty inconsistently. Depends on the activity, I can do some better than others. I'd like to get out to walk, maybe job, more, but our neighbourhood isn't safe thanks to a someone owning a big dog that attacks and is not chained up -- on the ONE street that's flat!
I do not drink.
I do not smoke.
I do not have and do not want children.
Not negotiable.
Alcohol makes me sick (unless it's in a dish and cooked and in minor amounts) and smoking bothers my otherwise pretty unbotherable asthma. Plus I just can't stand the smell of it. If you drink now and then, that is okay with me. None of this weekend warrior stuff. I've been through that with my ex and cannot go through it again. For the kids thing -- I have great empathy with animals and love them, but I just can't do kids. I've known all my life that I wouldn't want to have children.
Hmm... I consider myself Wiccan (mostly non practising) and also have a bit of interest in Catholicism because of my maternal Grandmother and in Eastern Orthodoxy because I learned about it for one of my undergrad minors and it was quite fascinating. I don't believe there is any one right religion and I won't push my beliefs and expect the same respect in return.
Speaking of undergrad.... I earned my BA in Journalism, History, and Russian. I am currently pursuing my MBA in Economic Crime & Fraud Management, although my ultimate goal is to get a book (or several) published.
I currently live in SW Virginia but hope to relocate to upstate or western NY sooner than later. My Mom's family is all from WNY and that's where I feel at home. (Both my parents are 'Yankees' and honestly I just don't 'get' the south.)
I am a licensed health insurance agent who was working for the leading company in the Medicare Part D plans .... but it got too stressful, especially with grad school, so I quit. I plan to do temp work until I graduate since that will be more flexible with school. I'm attending classes on-line, but have a residency to go to in January, and some weeks it would just be better to only have to concentrate on school.
The Good Stuff: My friends say I am creative, generous, intelligent, witty, kind, and passionate. I've seen many surveys/sites that ask, "other than appearance, what do people first notice about you?" One of my closest friends says, "Your sparkling personality and smile, I think, and your snarkiness (in a good way) . . . I love your snarkiness! And don't forget, brilliantly sexy!"
I LOVE to read, write, draw, learn new things, sing (I adore internet karaoke!), watching curling (want to learn to play), riding (horses, bicycle), travelling, and I love my computers. I like interesting and intelligent discussions as long as they don’t dissolve into “I’m right and you’re wrong.”
....Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens…
I love taking photos of nature – and then editing them in Paintshop Pro with my multitude of plug-ins. Lately I’m into B&W with hints of colour. And I do love my cat, Marble. I got her when she was 2 from the feral cat rescue society. She’s one of the most affectionate animals I’ve ever seen.
...These are a few of my favourite things…
Favourite travel spots? I love the UK & Western Europe. I’ve been to Scotland, Germany France, Austria, and Switzerland once, and England twice. This summer I spent 9 days in Toronto, ON, followed by time in both upstate and western NY. I would love to visit Ireland some day. I prefer quieter spots to noisy bars and clubs. Karaoke is an exception to the rule, but since Virginia isn’t big on “smoke free,” I do my karaoke on a free internet karaoke site! If you want to hear me sing, just let me know!
I love rich/royal colours, I like to shop on-line to avoid the crowds; I do enjoy long hours in a bookstore, though. I don’t watch much current TV (except for ‘American Idol’), but I have several series on DVD I love, such as: Buffy, Angel, Xena, Dallas, Thunderbirds, Dresden Files, Bewitched, Mork & Mindy, et cetera.
One of my favourite books is ‘Pillars of the Earth’ (historical fiction). I am currently reading “Fool Moon” by Jim Butcher, “Peter & the Shadow Thieves” by Ridley Pearson & Dave Barry, and I just finished "Thinking in Pictures: My Life With Autism" by Temple Grandin.
Favourite artists include Texas, Billy Idol, BBMak, Enya, Barbra Streisand, Paula Abdul, Regina Spektor, Cher, Faith Hill, Melissa Etheridge…
****Not interested in: Smokers. Wild/heavy drinkers. Liars, Cheaters, People who cannot control their temper, People with kids, People who are not D/D free.
This photo is pretty big so I'm including a link instead:
Amanda as Harry Potter - I'm the second one from the left in case you can't tell from the title of the picture! This is from August 20, 2007. The other woman dressed up is my best friend. The other two are people who were at the B&B we stayed at in Toronto and wanted to tell their son they met Harry.
Another big one:
At Casa Loma in Toronto
One more:
Archery at Casa Loma - it's a bit blurry but you can still see me pretty well.
(Please don't re-post my photos anywhere -- the disclaimer from my HP website where the pictures are hosted.)
Any questions? Please ask.
*Edit: I tend to be attracted to people older than I am, but I won't turn my nose up at a younger person if we seem to click.

Kevin
Send me a PM, Kevin. Good to meet you. :)
I am open, honest, independent, blunt, sometimes shy, considerate,
vary gentle, kind, thoughtful, caring, supportive, loving,
frugal yet giving, and Playful.
I like to be talked to & involved in things & learning
& trying new things, more then listening to my self talk
about what I already know & who I am,
I can hold my own in most all conversations.
.
If your just looking for a friend or someone
just to hang with, I am cool with that,
Its a start, no expectations, I am not judgemental.
But I would like something a little deeper in the
long run if it looks right.
.
I like a woman who is open, patient, kind, soft hearted, considerate in nature,
and that does not seem to take me or the world for granted.
.
I do not expect anyone to be perfect,
I know that by far I am not either.
.
I do not like to judge others or listen much to gossip,
I tend to let their own words & actions judge them selves.
.
I do not do drugs or drink,
I used to but I out grew them,
I am currently kicking my vary last habit, smoking.
I do not mind someone who does those things,
just do not expect me to join in doing them.
.
We are but a moments sunlight fading in the grass,
life is to short to waste when there is so much we can
give of our selves back into life to enrich our selves and
the lives of others around us, especially our children.
.
Music, I love most all kinds,
from the classical to the modern, from the foreign to the folk and native.
.
I am a hopelessly passionate romantic at times.
I enjoy bringing home wild flowers for my girl most each and every day
except during the winters when they are hard to find, This never ends
unless I feel the girl starts taking me for granted.
I enjoy exploring my partners sensuality's.
I have a healthy sex drive & would like a partner with the same,
I am vary loyal, when in a relationship my eyes never wonder &
my heart never cheats.
I enjoy snuggling & caressing, especially after love making,
I enjoy a woman who likes to take charge now and then in the bedroom,
letting me know what she wants likes & needs.
.
I have a two year old son that lives with me most of the time in Newport Washington,
he is my life.
.
I love home cooked meals but enjoy eating out now & then,
I can cook but I am not much of a cook though.
I have a free stile kind of personality & can be vary colorful at times.
I have no problem with doing my share of work around the home.
I like to work but I am not a workaholic.
.
I do not care for wild game foods or fish,
The only hunting of animals I do is with a camera,
fishing is fun but do not expect me to clean or eat them,
I do not like harming animals unless I have to,
I like to go hiking and woodland fungi hunting, exploring caves
& other hard to reach places, hunting & identifying medicinal
herbs & plants, archery, rock & gem & fossil hunting, yard sailing,
antique shops, thrift stores, art gallery's, zoo's, museums, theaters,
poetry, animals, travel, concerts, chess, puzzles, electronic games, computers,
watching movies & news, reading, sciences, crafts (all kinds), gardening,
playing with children & working on family & children's home & school projects.
I am not big into sports, but I do like to watch or get involved now & then.
I like to fix things around the home, I like to explore & try new things,
I am vary open minded, I would like to learn how to dance, & try water & winter sports.
I am not demanding or controlling.
I grew up on a farm so I do not mind hard work & getting my hands dirty.
.
My favorite question is:-
What made you smile the most today & why?
.
