So men are overall less intelligent but score the same average because IQ tests are biased?

we haven't even been able to firmly establish whether men and women have the same average or different averages. the scores seem to depend on many factors, so it is not really possible to isolate every possible factor. since so much has been shown to be environmental, it would be hasty and inaccurate to blame differences (or similarities) across test scores on biological differences (or similarities).

I was being facetious, it's fairly well agreed upon in psychometrics that men and women have the same averages for generalised intelligence. They show some variation in certain spatial memory tasks as was mentioned before, which interestingly enough all but disappear if both genders play videogames. There is arguement in the field over whether a generalised intelligence exists or how applicable it is to the real world but it's not really contentious that men and women have the same average but different standard deviations. Why that is so, is a very interesting and complex question I think and shouldn't be written off as simply either genetic or environmental.

You can't really trust averages. I know some women who are dumb as f**k and others who have the intelligence of a Rhodes Scholar.

Hence....average.

You're right. I am out looking for my own genetically superior man right now.

Not accurate. Our subjective minds would like to boost are ego by adding some kind of importance to what we do. But all life is concerned about in the evolutionary scale of things is simply one factor. Do you live long enough to procreate. Everything else is entirely subjective.

And is it always "THE BEST" because many primates, including us, also have a "backup" plan. Hence why the number of families with children from a second father either overtly (post divorce step families) or covertly (affairs)

What are "THE BEST" genes pricesly? Beyond genetic errors that lead to premature death it's basically us humans making a judgement on what we feel is "good" and what we feel is bad or inferior. We are going to totally screw up our long term survival if we start tampering with genetics of our genome without a seriously big step in the maturity of our species.

good points here. i think we tend to think of evolution as a force unto itself that drives our actions.
