Just occurred to me - though I've only had 3 lovers (at 48 yrs old), I've had several friendships (girls & guys), platonic but so intense that everyone who knew us at a superficial level assumed we were sexually involved. What does that tell you? I can be intimate, kind of? I feel very vulnerable about becoming actually sexually involved with anyone, which has held me back some. There are definitely opportunities I could have taken but didn't.

Asexual: Lacking interest in or desire for sex (American Heritage Dictionary)

Yeah, and me too. Lesbian, but often lacking any real interest in sex. I've seen it mentioned many times - seems quite a usual thing with Aspergers.

Yes, what badwhippet said.

If I form a relationship, it will probably be with a woman, but the focus will not be on sex. I don't think sex is bad at all, it just doesn't please/interest me anymore.

I consider myself bisexual, although I lean more towards dating women and FTM's (transgendered men). Hence, I don't know if the term bisexual would be accurate, but it closely describes me.

Try as I might to make myself bisexual (I figure it broadens my choices), I'm most definitely straight.

I'm straight, and not overly fussy with looks, it's honesty and trust I find more important in a partner, seeing as my ex was a compulsive liar and the worst woman on Earth, thankfully I found someone very nice who makes me very happy :D

I don't think I could ever be bisexual or gay but I have no problems being around others that are

Yeah. I really find it a weakness that I'm not bi.
But, likewise that I am only attracted to a pretty
narrow spectrum of looks in women. I've been with
males, and with females outside of that band, and it
just doesn't do a thing for me.

I'm not sure that this is true. I think that one can
willfully change their desires. I was tremendously
squeamish about blood, but I learned to incorporate
it into my desires, due to one lover who was very into
it. Likewise, maybe I could develop an attraction that I
otherwise wouldn't have, in order to meet a lover's desires.

Hey, Cal, old stories  .

To be honest, I don't know for sure. Though I physically like women I haven't ever been in love with one, but then again I'm not attracted to men at all. I guess it makes me straight?

Raz - good to see you here. You should post a welcome thread in the Getting to Know You section.
