It totally depends on the height and frame.

I am 60kg/132 pd for 5'3" small to medium frame; it is the medically ideal weight for me - if I am 80kg/175pd I would certainly be considered overweight (unless the +20kg are due to bigger muscles but this is so unlikely and abnormal).

A 175 pounds is within ideal weight range for women (medically wise) of a 5'10"+ and of large frame.

As Boo suggested men and women are built differently. There are differences in height, build, muscle mass, bone density, etc.

I'm 6'2. At 172 pounds I'd have a BMI of 22.1. That's not overweight.

Most women are less than 6 foot. The average American woman is 5'4. At 172 pounds she'd have a BMI of 29.6. A far cry from 22.1.

Before you accuse me of being a fatass who hypocritically expects women to be thin, A few years ago I lost 120 lbs, partly for my health and partly to look better.

I'm not saying it's acceptable for men to be obese. No one here has said that.

If men thought it was ok to be obese then there wouldn't be men in the gym and there wouldn't be weight loss products aimed at men.

So what the syndrome is called for those overweight women who mock on slightly overweight men?

"Morning Talkshow Hypocrisy Female Syndrome"?




And some women seem to have a "Porn-penis size expectation Female syndrome" or "Body-shaming Hypocrisy Female Syndrome"?

Actually there was a radical feminist WP member here who so was against body shaming, yet before leaving, she went crazy and started penis-shaming a male member here (even tho she has no idea of his size...but still, that doesn't matter).




So don't fool yourself, Princess, a lot of people of your gender are full of BS too.

Online dating is much more effective if you can move. I know a middle aged women who picked a couple of guys, did some really serious dating, and married one of them in perhaps a year. Then she sold her home and moved to another state.

Of course men are unfairly body-shamed, and I would never deny that, but the OP isn't body-shaming men.

I have always been a bit pudgy and am currently working on losing weight but I am not doing it to attract guys. I'm doing it because I want to.

I'm not physically perfect and don't expect to attract physically perfect people. I'm not going to beg guys to be attracted to me.

Um, isn't porn specifically made for men? I'm not being naive, I know some women watch it too, but I've also read articles written by women complaining that most porn caters for men.

One interview I heard on the radio was a female director on a women in business show saying how she felt she needed to become a director and make videos women would want. Can't remember who she was.

I don't watch- but I checked those "Porn for women" / "Feminist porn" (or what they call it 'erotica') which are directed by women out of curiosity, and all men in these videos are tall, handsome, muscled and six-packed. All of them.

And this seem to be the only one ideal beauty standard for men everywhere, not only in porn, Is rom-comedy aimed for men for instance? It is by far narrower than the female beauty standardS.

Producers follow the demand after all, so let's not blame it only on media and producers.
