I've always thought I would have more success in dating as a male.

I'm viewed as a bit strong willed and over confident. I feel like I'm always the one doing the chasing. I'm always the one looking up the what's on listings locally to find something to invite him to.

I'm a bit sick of it. I wish for once someone would make an effort for me.

Wish there were more like you
Particularly ones who find me attractive.
Like the movies where the woman goes after the guy and asks him out, brings him cookies, follows him around etc

Aha! So that's where I'm going wrong. I need to be doing more baking :D

I think if you brought him and only him baked goods it sends I like you. Atleast I’m shows and movies and I’ve heard stories of women doing it.

If you brought in some for everyone the it just means you like baking.
Women bring in baked goods to my work for everyone. Other times some brought them in just for the guy they like.

Have you tried being really flirty and joining in on activities THEY like? That sort of behaviour would get my attention fast, probably would for other guys too.

Woman showing interest in my hobbies would seem to show they like me but I’d play it safe and not assume so.

Huh. Well if you're not unattractive, and you're doing that, then I'm stumped. The only thing I can assume is somehow you give off the vibe that you're out of these guys' leagues.

Or maybe she's only going for guys who are out of her league

So the only way to know: she must post her pics with full character details + the pics of guys she rejected with full details + the pics of the guys who rejected her with full character details , and we as a "jury", give mercilessly a score from 0 to 10 for each.

That would give an idea what is her league really.

You know what would be interesting. Find someone on a dating site anywhere in the world that you assume would be in my league.

I'm a chubby lady Gaga, Jennifer Aniston, Barbara Streisand type, with British teeth.

They’re all singers/actors.

Gaga looks sort of “alternative.”

Aniston looks like the girl next door.

Streisand looked sort of quirky in her younger days.

I guess maybe light hair and not too thin? But not chubby, either?

And quite bony facial features that are not everyone's cup of tea, but not ugly.

I am the quirky girl next door, who once you get to know is a bit alternative.

Maybe men don't like the bait n switch. I look conservative, but I'm not.

Not bad in my book.....

I believe there's lots of "bad luck" involved in your situation.

Do you go for chubby men or just average/slim men?

Chris Farley or Benedict Cumberbatch?

Chris Farley is quite chubby; Benedict Cumberbatch is quite thin. Farley seems like he would be a delightful sort; Cumberbatch seems like he's a pretty fussy fellow.

I would assume that Hurtloam, purely from the standpoint of "looks," would prefer somebody more in the "middle."

I'm not particularly fond of overweight people; but I've had heavy crushes on people who were quite overweight---because of their other characteristics beyond their weight.
