No, you just haven't been here long enough.

Long enough for what? To learn that, contrary to the bulk of scientific literature, all aspies are liars?

Funny thing about that - since I've been diagnosed, other aspies have been popping out of the woodwork in my personal life. Guess what? They are, every one of them, the people whom I had already determined were the ones I could count on NOT to lie to me.

Maybe it's just young, male aspies living in Lebanon that can't be trusted to tell the truth. :P

I said nothing about lying, they're totally honest about their superficial preferences.

Basically it is too easy for everyone to pretend to be something they are not online.

There are plenty of reasons for someone to try to give a different image online and we have seen it all through this section(even good looking guys that pretended to be bad looking and complained about how superficial girls are and got upset when everyone found out they werent bad looking) so boo and plenty of other people have taken an sceptical approach to anything anyone may say online

So does that necessarily mean that every single person posting anywhere on the internet is pretending to be something they're not? I belong to several other forums that have IRL get-togethers. What is the point of pretending you are something you're not if you are going to be revealed as a liar when you meet someone in person? (Same goes for dating sites.)

Maybe it is an age thing. My generation didn't grow up with the internet, so there was no readily-available venue for falsely representing oneself.

I guess the new paradigm is "never trust anyone UNDER 30."

^ I am over 30.

It's not necessarily lying; but personas are often not projected accurately through the internet; for example everyone who knew me online before meeting me assumed that I am the talkative type and maybe super bold while in real life I am totally the opposite; this was part of my dating problem I guess using the dating sites. It's not like I lie behind the screen but I simply communicate more comfortably there.

And since we're talking about looks, people who claim they don't care about looks and are not superficial are probably not aware how they react when they see some buff/bimbo (or post their pics); I've seen even here from members who claim non-superficiality, I bet their drooled saliva reached their cleavages.

I keep a box of Kleenex nearby to help with the drooling.

Just because good looks are not a person's top priority doesn't mean they can't identify and/or appreciate them. Nor does that appreciation necessarily equate to sexual interest.

I've never seen a woman I know throwing away a 20+ year marriage for a hot young boy toy (or even a hot old boy toy); they usually ditch their long-term marriages for someone who will LISTEN to them. Conversely, I can't begin to count the number of men I've known who've thrown away a 20+ year marriage for some hot babe.

Obviously, Boo, you perceive a different world than I do. That's okay.

I do, however, get tired of you constantly telling me that you know what I'm thinking. You don't. I get tired of you telling me that I'm pretending to be something other than what I really am. I'm not. Try to remember that the only person's thoughts you are fully aware of are your own, and try not to project them onto other people. It's no way to make friends (or pick up women, for that matter :P ).

Jesus Christ! (or Thor) Where did I ever tell you what you're thinking? You're a such melodramatic queen.
