No I didn't, I simply went down the list. On the other hand you cherry picked and still couldn't prove your point.

Maybe I shall describe my height 5'3 as "just little below average"; it would then magically becomes the truth just for saying it, ha!

In my country or most european countries 200lbs = 2 people.

Really, careful throwing stones from the UK. You're not doing much better.
I'm not saying Canada is doing much better than the US, or the UK, or Australia, or New Zealand.

My philosophy of food is only eat what you need, not what you want!

We OCCASIONALLY have fast food, but it's rare. I prefer not to set foot in any restaurant unless I work there.

We did a brief stint on welfare (WIC). We knew it was time to let it go once we noticed we eat out at least once a week. We currently receive no assistance, but due to finances we make a point of only going out once a month.

I went from 230 lbs. to under 180. As of today, that is. I went running this morning and have been mowing the lawn ever since, so that's roughly 2 liters of water every hour. I haven't eliminated much, but I expect to be up all night paying for it. Chances are good I'll be back down to 168 by Monday.

While I'm recovering, I just ate the last slice of veggie pizza I made last night and a stick of string cheese, and that was the first solid nutrition I've had all day (I fast on Saturdays until sunset). Tonight we have spaghetti and meatballs. Yum!

I've also found beer to be invaluable for carb recovery. I don't really feel like getting out and braving mosquitoes to hit the convenience store for cheap beer, but we still have half a bottle of wine to finish. I should sleep well tonight! lol

You wanna fight obesity? That's how it's done, dude.

Once upon a time a guy started a thread which he believed would become so filled with great tips on figuring out if a girl likes you it would get stickied and NDs the world over could benefit from the collective wisdom that would lie therein, and then.... :P

They shouldn't have talked to other humans then. Most everything goes off topic with humans. Was going say just wrong planet but it's all forums and have you read Facebook comments there's tons that have nothing to do with the post lol

Also people who list they have such job, or work two jobs means that's important to them, which means they won't likely accept someone who doesn't have a good job or multiple jobs.
I also have to exclude all the thin women, women with kids, sex ads etc.

Only one woman in that list has mentioned you need a car, job etc and that's a list you cherry picked!

You're just making excuses, you're trying to shift the blame onto women, trying to paint them to be something they're not because it suits your blame-avoiding agenda.

Are you reading a different list to me? They all seemed to want someone with a job or career. Sly works, but only part time and is on benefits.

Sly said women always say in their profiles that you need a job, a car and a place to live. Maybe you could point out explicitly where in those adverts it says those things?

These are things that go without saying when they say they want someone with a professional career

I think you are being overly opedantic about his wording. It is heavily implied that they want an independent man with a full-time job, a car and a place of his own.

https://eugene.craigslist.org/w4m/d/fri ... 79416.html
Life together means not living with your Mom and being financially independent ie no state support.

https://eugene.craigslist.org/w4m/d/looking-for-real-man/6306280641.html
Says she wants a man with a truck

https://eugene.craigslist.org/w4m/d/are ... 77809.html
Lists car as essential

https://eugene.craigslist.org/w4m/d/looking/6276010744.html
There's a reason she's noted she has a professional career and she's a home owner. She obviously values those things and won't want a man working part-time who doesn't own a home or at least rent his own place.

https://eugene.craigslist.org/w4m/d/looking-for-my-other-half/6257219937.html
This one wants a man who is career oriented, that is not a man working part-time supplemented by benefits.

And you're being overly optimistic and you're also missing the point. Sly's "excuse" for being single is that women only want men with money and cars, and his evidence for that is that dating ads all state the man needs a job, a place and a car. I've shown that's not the case by picking adverts in an organic fashion, and even by cherry picking adverts Sly still hasn't proven the point.

The takeaway here is not the adverts, it's that Sly is building this idea in his head that simply isn't true and I'm trying to show that.

Well, wev'e only got one option then. We look on Eugene craigslist and find a suitable match. Or you can, it's acutually sunny here. I'm going for a walk

I agree that not all women have these requirements. I'd even claim that many ND women don't.

Saying that most women want a man with a job is not sexism - it's a statistical fact.

That even includes the women who never been married and probably are going to die single, yet still refusing the idea to date an unemployed man:

http://www.pewsocialtrends.org/2014/09/ ... r-married/

Quote:
But the survey also finds that, among the never married, men and women are looking for distinctly different qualities in a potential mate. Never-married women place a great deal of importance on finding someone who has a steady job—fully 78% say this would be very important to them in choosing a spouse or partner. For never-married men, someone who shares their ideas about raising children is more important in choosing a spouse than someone who has a steady job.

According to the PEW research, which is a very reliable source btw, unemployment among men is on the rise but women are NOT adjusting to this reality: Meaning, that most women are still refusing to marry unemployed men and support them financially, the househusband role is still not an option that occur in people's minds too.
On the other hand, there are plenty of working men who are willing to marry unemployed women, the housewife "profession" still exists a lot and still relatively a popular option (yet i think those men are being stupid, it's time for men to be as harsh in their standards and in mating selection)

So this what's going on due to the widening gender gap in unemployement: In the unmarried pool, there are more working women, yet most men in the pool are unemployed or poor (according to other studies)- so beyond a certain age, the unmarried adult women aren't going to find what they want among the unmarried men and are totally unwilling to change their standards.

So sly's struggle is real, most men without job or with low paid job are going to struggle to find a wife or a gf.
These are statistical facts and we see it in everyday life (never in my life I heard a woman saying to be willing to marry a man without a job, never at all- not even once); denying it just to be PC is stupid.
