Supposedly.

There was an article about a study on such the other day; whilst people may still be attracted to the beautiful people of their preferred gender, they tend to aim for ones that they know they can reasonably accomplish based on looks alone. Ie, they try to stay within their "categories" while still doing the best they can.

Personally, I think people are people. I'm not fussed one way or the other; external looks aren't important. They all fade with time anyway.

I aim for the person I am attracted to. I don't understand the concept that someone wouldn't go for someone simply because they think they're "unworthy."

I feel that everyone is going to have their own definition of "good-looking".

Seen a lot of matchups between an attractive person,
and someone kinda so-so, where the latter tends to
be bold.

But the memory doesn't. And 'tis important to me
to find the image that I shall always see someone
through to be attractive.

Hence the word "tend". Obviously, not everyone matches up to what the experts say they should.

I could see how that works. Still, I know some very (physically) beautiful people with very unattractive personalities. I would rather base on personality than looks, but it's a personal opinion.

Well, to the degree that a friend of mine
(who was just upset that she let her roomie
have dibs on me - but hadn't been assertive
enough - wasn't used to it) came up with a
whole theory that this was actually the norm.

I guess it depends on standards. I don't see
too many really equal match ups, by my standards
of beauty. Then again, they ain't the norm.

Oh sure. I'm not saying to hell with either.
There are just baselines, in both categories.
And somehow, personality seems to go in
hand with my standard of beauty.
