lol because I haven't played FFX. I got X-2 without knowing it was a sequel. all i did was watch FFX cutscenes on youtube, which i don't count as "playing" the game

Oh... well I gues that settles it...

Personally, I liked FFX a lot better, mainly because Auron was so badass...

Although his best line was delivered in ffx-2 in a flashback sequence of sorts (one of the crimson spheres iirc) where he says "Only a jackass can change the world"... best quote ever...

Because that is the definition of the word that many people use.
Doen't mean that it is right.

Just means that internet discussions go on for longer because people are using different definitions ;)

A lot of girls pretend to be guys on online games so they aren't bombarded with "WIL U B MY GF?!?!?!?!" or "BOOB PIX PLZ!11", at least, that's what I've been hearing.
I play video games, but only Nintendo stuff. Not into the whole first person shooters and the like.

The people that post that kind of stuff are douchebags... I, for one, don't do that...

Yeah, I have some friends who do that.
They just want to talk about the games and not be talked down to or patronized in anyway because of their sex.

Honestly, if I knew a girl gamer in real life, there would be more important things to say than "boob pix plz"... if I want aforementioned boob pix, theres 50 bazillion sites that offer that...

The only hardcore gamer girls in my school are lesbians.

the hardcore anime fans are also the hardcore study types. As in ''I'd bury myself in books but not in your chest.''

I've always found the women I've enjoyed the most were ones with a different intrest than me but one I found INTERESTING.

I would love to meet a zoologist. I find animals interesting but not a passion.

See.

I already have what I am into I want her to bring something.

ANYTHING creative.

My sister's a gamer - thought I've probably helped her along in that. She's a regular Jedi Academy / World of Warcraft player (I got her into both), and she's expressed liking for Half Life 2 and Team Fortress 2 as well - though it seems really difficult for her to tear herself away from her other games or activities. Of course, she's also played the Sims and a bunch of other games - but these are the major or recent ones.

I'd say she plays far differently from me, though - in JKA (Jedi Academy) she prefers to hop around instead of fight, and in World of Warcraft she's an accomplished gold farmer and auction house player. Instead of gearing her main characters up, though, she's always creating new ones and levelling those to 70.

What do you guys define as a 'Hardcore gamer'?
I'm just asking because I find it hard to believe that none of you have ever even met a straight gaming girl... I know boatloads of them and I wasn't really aware that there was a shortage. I also know a few other girls that dabble in videogames, but aren't really obsessed.
I'm just wondering what qualifies as 'hardcore' in you guys' eyes.

Hardcore gamer:

1) Can tell you the difference between an RTS, FPS, and RPG. Bonus points if they knows what the 4 X's of 4X stand for.
2) Plays games that fit any of the categories above. Fighting games (a la Mortal Kombat or Tekken) are okay too. Driving games and Sim games don't count, though...
3) Gaming (single player or online) takes up at least 40% of their leisure time.
4) Bonus points if she says something related to gaming while not gaming (i.e. "These running shoes give me +10 speed")

And finally, the ultimate brownie points come from the following (although not required):
Has played a space-themed or future-themed RTS and enjoyed it...

Of course, given that criterion, I'll end up with a korean... nothing overly wrong with that, but there will be a language barrier...

I'm not a hardcore gamer girl.

I play games occasionally.

I'm a gamer girl, and I am in networks with hundreds of 'em. Most of them hot ;)

Want me to hook you up?

I would imagine most people here would agree that hot is an added bonus when it comes to gamer girls. As long as they appreciate games, play them, enjoy them, that's grand. Crikey, even if they were prepared to give a game a go even though they know they're rubbish at it would be a start.

You're right though, they do exist, I've met a couple! They are a very popular group with men though.

Hook-ups are always welcome ;)
