That's an interesting video. But I'm wondering; do all NLP practioners go so over the top with the body language and intense piercing gazes?

Huh? This is what we're talking about? "Just be yourself, be who you really are, be honest, be authentic."

~so confused now~

cdfox7 is demonstrating NLP, which he says that a lot of the PUA guys use the techniques and concepts of too (but he'd say that their use of it is corrupt and immoral, I think)

The diamond metaphor there makes me think of the 'Buddha Seed' concept in Buddhism.

So it's really not what we're talking about here, I guess. IDK ... I find the guy in the video extremely likeable. True, most of what I heard is the kind of potifical and armchair "philosophical" stuff you can hear from lots of guys if you stay at the bar late enough, right? But, it seemed pretty harmless -- on its face at least. Not like what we've been discussing over the last 10 pages or so.

In a way, I guess. But, "just be yourself, be who you really are" would seem to cut against it.

Moog there also a lot of unethical use and abuse of NLP as well I hear a few stories about that.
the Key issue here is that then a person communicates with integrity and ethics it can be seen as influence and persuasion.
On the other hand communication without integrity and ethics is simply deception and manipulation.

personally i consider "influence and persuasion" to be quite a bit like "deception and manipulation"
maybe the difference between laughing at and humiliating a kid who isn't picked for the team in gym class instead of physically stuffing him into a trash can

Yeah, I think that's probably an element the PUA guys don't focus on too much. If these guys were all pure diamonds, they wouldn't be trying to hack women's brains.

I see, gotcha. Makes perfect sense to me.

I am going to guess that 'penetration testing' is something that IT security people carry out.

And now giggle

And make no mention of 'root access'

Yep thats right lol I meet an penetration tester at uni years back that was an experience talking to him about his line of work.
I wonder are there any red cells or tiger teams working on the inside of the seduction community to sabotage there activities, that would be perfect if that community became a victim of social engineering attacks

At the original poster: I thoroughly agree with your understanding, your reasoning, your approach, and your post.
Sorry for coming in late.
And that's all I'll write for now, the full reply would be way too long and complex and I'm busy. Later.

First off OP, I just want to say I agree with your viewpoints.
It seems like there are many here who get hostile at the first mention of anything PUA.
The way you handled the maid situation was absolutely correct, you planted that hoop in her head, let it sit there for 24 hours.. It is completely plausible that you could have needed that 24 hours to make a concrete decision.
In the end, handling the situation in that way you minimized problems for both parties, and discouraged future problems as well. I for one will not close myself to the benefits of PUA techniques.
