Hi, my name is Nick. I'm 25 from Dartmoor in the UK. As a child I was bullied, twice at prep school, and several at secondary. All counts were my misjudging the people as potential friends. I've had meltdowns, and tantrums, which until I started following this up I had blocked out. I've only ever had one girlfriend, she asked me out, got me into bed, and wanted to spoon afterwards. Jeez, thats too much contact that I didn't ask for, you know? That lasted a good month.
Midway through my A-levels I got ME, which triggered all the other symptoms, especially clumsiness and being socially (can I say?) ret*d. I get really annoyed if I am disturbed in any way, and if someone can get me to talk, then the odds are they won't get me to stop until I have told them everything that was on my mind right there. Yet when it comes to girls, I can make up a big list of things I want to say, but if you take the list with you, they think you are odd, and trying to remember it all in order is hard, and 99% of the time, I go silent and/or run away!
I'm completely eccentric, cowboy boots in Devon, anyone? I often say the wrong thing and unknowingly get given looks for it. I have a small circle of friends, and you really have to shine if you want to make it past my wall. If I don't like you, the odds are I won't make much contact with you at all, but I'm trying and its hard. When Irun out of things to say, I tend to ask if someone watches Scrubs, and then have they seen *enter moment here*, odds are I have seen it and memorized the scene word for word. Yet try and get me to remember verbal instructions and yo may as well talk to my shoes.
Oh, I hate eye contact, but I try and make it if I can, I don't like saying hi to people, and shaking hands is just too far. The name Speedy was given to me by my first boss, as a reaction to my, well, speed, or lack thereof. It kinds of sticks now with everything. That or numpty.

yay narcissism! my name is lizzy and i am sixteen years old. as far as i know, i am not autistic, but i am dating a boy with asperger's syndrome. i've decided to do some more research into it, because yesterday he said to me "you know, sometimes i think you act just as autistic as i do." which made me laugh, but it could be true.

i love the white stripes; also brit expressions, which accounts for my screen name. aside from the stripes, lately i've been listening to indie, girl screamo, classical, folk, and piano rock, especially the klaxons, flyleaf, bright eyes, u2, gordie sampson, eric angus whyte, copeland, etc. i am fond of the oxford comma.

in other news, i am tall, with shortish blonde hair. i like to call myself a writer. i self-publish a zine of my poetry, short stories, spoken word, drawing and photography, called Cheerio Darling. i play violin and have just begun learning bass and very elementary theory. i like to knit and cook, and i am very interested in philosophy, art, literature, poetry, language, economics, politics, emotions, perceptions, people, colours, and fair trade.

Hello my name is Chris (feel free to call me as such). I don't know if I have aspergers or not but I am seeing a doctor hopefully by the end of next month, how knows how long these things take, and he will test me and diagnose me or not. Over the last few years I've noticed changes in myself. My behaviors. My feelings. My interactions. My friendships. I've cared less about traveling the state to see my friends and more about staying in my confined space at home. A friend of mine, the one who directed me to this website, suggested I take the "aspie" test and I did. While she was diagnosed just months later with it my score was only mere points below hers and once I found out she was diagnosed with it I decided to get myself tested (with her encouragement of course). I feel kind of alone in my quest for answers on what is different about me and why it all happened so naturally. As a generalization it seems like nobody understands why I feel different, or how I feel or what I am seeking help when to their point of view I never needed it before. My parents suggested to me that I am only trying to get a diagnosis that will enable me to end up on disability. This is not true and their suggestion that it is only makes me feel further alienated from them. They are good parents and have always given a warm and loving home. Dad laughed at me when i had prefaced the whole thing by asking him not too. That really hurt. I have only 2 people that I don't have to give many answers too. The rest will get their answers when there are answers to give them. I need them first and most of all.

Anyway.

I live in Calais, Maine on the Saint Stephen, New Brunswick Canada border. It's a small town of only a couple of thousand people. We have a walmart and a couple of grocery stores and a movie theatre. All the people of neighboring towns come here to do their shopping which is good for the economy except for holiday seasons. God bless online shopping. I have short brownish hair and blue eyes. I love to play games (online and reality) I like yahtzee, clue, battleship, checkers, chess (I'm not good at it but I am fascinated at how the pieces move), cribbage, canasta, I play online games such as 2moons, Rappelz and MapleStory. (By the way any other Maple Story players out there e-mail me or something, let's go questiing together, that goes for another of the other 2 games too.) I used to write a lot of poetry and song lyrics. Asinine though as I don't play or read any music. I enjoy watching pro wrestling. And I never miss a show. I know there's a lot of haters out there but it's my one true vice. I lost my brother at the age of 19 back in 99. He was my best friend, my soul twin, and when he died I died along with him. Wrestling was the outlet for me to express my feelings. It let me yell at the tv. Laugh with the funny parts and just get my emotions out that needed to be vented in a constructive way. At some point I realized I also really dug the science of the moves and the way the bodies interact with each other when having a match. I also love video games, that's a great escape for me, Zelda, Mario, Metroid, Grand Theft Auto, Madden, MLB Baseball, Donkey Kong, Space Invaders, Pac Man, it's all good.

Sorry this kind of just rambled on I just wanted to write an introduction and give a clear picture of me. Or as clear as they come.

The name's Jeff, and I'm 19 years old, and in my sophomore year in college. I'm a confirmed Aspie and have known about it for 2 years now. I hail from upstate New York, and go to college there too. I prefer not to reveal the details on that.

I was always socially awkward, and had few friends, though I don't think I've ever been truly bullied. Most people were indifferent or mildly friendly towards me most of the time.

My parents quickly realized I wouldn't last long in a public school environment and sent me to a private school with small classes and a somewhat unorthodox teaching style, and I flourished there, in academic terms. Bless them and their protective souls.

Most of the very good friends I've had all ended up moving away. I also had a girlfriend, but I ended up losing her because Most of my social life is now, you guessed it, online. There's something about the Internet that makes it easier to socialize for me.

Anyway, a little more about myself:

Interests: Writing, video games (VERY MUCH), animals. Most of my writing is "fan fiction", but I do plan to write something original someday.

Food: Chicken, pizza, ketchup, milk.

Movies: 300 (THIS IS SPARTAAAA!! !!), Jurassic Park, Lord of the Rings Trilogy.

TV: I don't watch much TV.

Music: I'll listen to just about anything, except gangsta rap and hip-hop. I love rock and metal, though. Favorite bands are Breaking Benjamin, Disturbed,

Books: I'm like books with factoids. I absorb random and useless knowledge far too easily. Probably due to my AS.

How my AS is: My personal AS is kind of mild.

-My biggest problem is texture and taste. I can't stand soda and mushrooms.
-Absorbs random knowledge easily.
-I talk to myself a lot. Often out loud.
-Eye contact is difficult. I call it the laser-eye effect.
-I used to have a major problem tearing myself away from video games, but I've gotten much better.
-I think one of the reasons I have trouble talking with people is that I feel like they're not worth the trouble...it's like a superiority issue or something. Yet at the same time, I have difficulty identifying with many of my fellow aspies because they just seem weird to me.
-I don't express a whole lot of emotions other than contentment and happiness. Sometimes I wish I could be a bit more emotional.
