I'd amend this to: "Never ever work by the number the scales display, never work by the mirror. Work by your own feelings of satisfaction, and balance that off spurious reactions you receive."

true dat, unclebeer. the comparison of scales versus mirror only holds true if one wants to lose weight for well-feeling issues.

This isn't really fair. There are women who, again due
to body type, just aren't going to be able to look like
what you want. When thin, they look slim and girlish.

Personally, this is very much to my liking.

That would, actually, be kind of anorexic; but whatever floats your boat. A healthy/slender weight for a woman of 5'3" would be around 115 lbs.

It will be interesting to see where this thread goes. I know this wasn't asked, but I prefer a man who's on the higher end or even slightly overweight. My husband was WAY too skinny when we got married. Over the last 16 years of marriage, he's put on about 60 lbs. I think he's far more attractive now, even with the loss of hair.

I'm not attracted to a man who's TOO perfect. Are there men who feel the same way about women? I asked my brother and he said there was no such thing as a woman being too gorgeous for him.

ARGH!! !! I happen to be 5'3 and 129lbs... "Operation Bulimia resumed"

no good your too light
(okay I may slide for you...I saw your picture) 8)

I Don't think I would hit on a girl who weighed more than 120 pounds. I probably go for about 105 pounds on average.

But thats mainly because I am very skinny myself and if she weighed 130 people would probably think she weighed more than me(I'm 140 but people say I'm 120 and it really ticks me off, shrug).

But I don't know, I've always liked the really skinny girls, don't know exactly why.

I don't judge books by covers.

Once you've read a book,
a nice cover looks better on
the shelf.

At my height, if I was 105 pounds, I would be drastically underweight, and probably hospitalized.

That would be a BMI of 13.9. "Underweight" Is considered less than 18.5

I's still be very underweight at 120. Weight itself means very little. I was thin (At the very low range of normal) when I weighed 150.

How tall are you?

I think those BMI charts
are kinda silly, because they
don't take into account WHAT
kind of weight you're carrying.
My wife probably rated pretty damned
low on it, when she wasn't digging ditches
for a living, but with some muscle tone
ended up closer to normal.

I, on the other hand, end up normal,
but could definitely shed some excess fat.

Yeah, 120 would be pretty light.

My first gf was 6', and she looked
pretty damned good at about 160. She
was heavily built though, a mannish body.

Personally, I feel as long as they are not overweight, they're okay.

I'm more into personality than anything else.

Geez.

Marilyn Monroe was 5'5" and 120 pounds, I guess she was fat and fugly?

Anything bigger than anorexic but smaller than morbidly obese can look good, it's all a matter of how you wear it.

Rather Chubby, by my tastes.
Wouldn't call her fugly, but
yes.
