Yes, I agree. People should do what is right for them. I don't think I mentioned imposing anything on anyone.

Wasn't aimed at you, mainly the more bigoted harpies.

Nice restaurants really suck.

My type of woman , I bet even many chefs think it's a bit of a w*k, they do it for the money you can be certain they would much rather go home to Nonya and eat one of her home cooked meals.

Since where talking about chips , I 'm so chip that I'd prefer to stay at home and make my own (also in part because it's so hard to find a good chip here) organic potato hand cut ,skin on why can't I go to a restaurant or takeaway and find a chip skin on ? (it's delcious do try it) double fried , also I make it my own tomato sauce, garlic, chili, Italian Tomatoes, capers and tamarind (adds a lovely sourness.)

Better than any gourmet food.

Does one of those actually exist or did you just make that up?

Cumberland Pencil Museum.

Probably not a good place for a first date, but it does have the worlds largest colour pencil!

Now I'm wondering what it says about me that I think the pencil museum sounds really interesting...

This has reminded me of some men on here I've heard saying that a woman will have a go at them if they open the door for them because they feel it makes a woman appear weak. I mean, what a stupid thing to have a go at someone who has just politely opened the door for you. I like it and think it's only decent manners, and it's charming when the man actually stands against the door to let you through.

I really hate having the door opened for me - I would never "have a go" at someone for doing it, but it was definitely hard for me to learn this little social ritual. To me it always seemed natural that if if you reach a door first, you hold it open so it doesn't hit the person behind, and if they are carrying something or pushing a pram it is natural to hold it for them. Assigning a door-opening role based on gender just seems silly, and adds another layer of social complexity. I particularly hate it when a man stands against the door, or when they open the door and stand watching you walk up - I don't like the feeling of being watched, and walking through the door when they stand there is a bit too close into my personal space.

I have learned to accept this little social ritual and deal with it, but it is one of those areas I am always conscious that I am following a learned script, it feels very unnatural.

A woman volunteered to accompany me to one once.

(and it wasn't in a, "you look like a hobo, lets get you a job" way)

I've read many answers to this question but I can tell you that worst place to take an aspie on a date is one of those interactive murder mystery parties or any performance that includes participation from the audience. Pure terror and anxiety. Give me McDonald's in your parents' basement bathroom after an evening at the landfill over one of those agonizing and socially demanding parties.

A sex dungeon. Give her a leather mask and some flowers when you arrive.

Most places people have thought of already, so...

Starbucks/Seattle Best's Coffee/any coffee shop

Your neighborhood library/bookstore

Small-sized city park

A shopping mall's food court

I suppose it depends the person and the situation.
