I'm from the Midlands in England, and was diagnosed as having ASD/AS in March 2007.

I had worked in various factories etc for about 20yrs, then diagnosed as having 'Anxiety & Social Phobia'........but having seen docu's etc on Tv I kinda knew I had 'Asperger Syndrome', as I could relate to MOST of the 'Traits'. Unfortunately, when I was at School it wasn't a recognised condition.

I was born & brought up in 'remote' countryside areas untill I was 16 (inc 3 moves), so I spent most of my life just thinking I was a 'Quiet/thoughtful, decent' person!! !

People tend to 'take advantage' of you if you are an 'outsider' and have a mind of your own.

I HAVE had 'Friends', but they tended to be 'users' or used me as a 'stepping-stone' etc

Anyway, at least I know I've looked after myself despite very little help etc...........and I dream/fantasise how Wonderful Life would be IF I ever found a Real Partner?

I enjoy Sport (mainly just watching thesedays) Soccer, Moto GP/Speedway, Tennis etc, Music (from Rock to Pop etc), Cinema, Animals/Nature, Humour/Philosophy, TV/DVD/Video, D.I.Y. (I have to) LOL. Daytrips etc especially North Wales...........and I'm very interested in Ufology & the Paranormal?

I'm not Materialistic, but DO Love little Luxuries etc, I'd Love to meet a similar Female for a 'relationship'..............failing that it would be nice to meet a Male or Female fairly locally for 'Friendship' etc

 Surely theirs someone in the Midlands / England, or Wales?

Likewise on AA. Really thin on the ground, UK-wise. I've been on OkCupid, but to little success. I'd still recommend it, though. It has good ways of matching people. I've settled for hoping someone will appear eventually. Making as many appearances at as many events as possible, and just going with the flow. Eventually it will happen.

I know I'm going to get hurt a lot on the way, but if I don't go insane (or maybe even if I do), I'll get there in the end.

((((hugs))))

I'm looking, but not looking, if that makes any sense at all.

I'm 23 years old from New Jersey, athletic, active, and in good shape. On the surface, you'd think I was like any other guy, I love sports, beer, and anything that combines them. I'm a musician, I love playing, writing, and making music with anyone who wants to. I'm 6-foot-3, 185 pounds, dirty blond hair, blue eyes. I think too much for my own good, tendency to over-analyze. I get the feeling women sense something is different about me. I get rejected a lot, but rarely am I ever given a reason. I have managed one relationship, albeit, pretty much a failure. I play NHL 09 a lot for Xbox 360, but in general, I'm not a gamer. If I'm not skating, I've probably got a glove and a bat and am headed for a baseball diamond somewhere. So that's basically me. Any females from NJ or somewhere close, pm me!

-sigh- let's give this a shot =.=

I'm a 22 years old single male, seeking a female around his age to talk to (AS or not, doesn't matter) and beyond if we're both willing. I've never had a job... Still live with my parents and the rest of my family... I live in Canada, Montréal Québec... I'm half deaf (Meaning my interests in music are sort of low, but not inexistant, and i can't go out in loud places)... And apart from AS, also diagnosed with ADD (type 2? the unattentive dominant one).

I study in social sciences.... I've begun university under condition (missing one last class from college to be officially done with it...). I'm also interested in biology, mostly insects, but everything biology related is interesting. Not very sportive, somewhat competitive, as long as it's healthy. Likes video games (mostly RPGs, plateformers, action-adventure, some RTSs and that's it). Is fluent in both french and english. Likes to read.... (Although it's recently mostly mangas that i read).

Hrm, what else... I'm pretty selfless, always willing to help someone in need as long as i can... I'm always punctual (when it's about work, that's another story). I'm also pretty honest (that's a typical Asperger trait, so i've heard...). If you need more info or want to ask me more in depth questions, feel free to PM me, and i'll answer you as best i can.

Hi everybody,

Names Grant, currently 22 and living in texas.
Image Ive traveled here and there, and have lived in the NL / Usa / Argentina for the current stage of my life. I was born in Texas however and since being back in Austin Ive realized its such an incredible city I may never leave again. I graduated the international high school I attended in Gelderland Holland at 15 and haven't really been back to school since.
I Don't have much holding me to a specific place, so I'm kinda just existing right now, putting away what I can for the future, seeing what the world has to offer and trying to live the lifestyle I truly want, while I can. Generally I live alone supporting myself mainly through poker, e commerce and whatever else I can scratch up at the time. Its not the lap of luxury, But I move where I please and get to see slices of different cultures that most nt''s and others never get to experience. I try to see the best in people, but I'm yet to find a place where I truly feel like I belong. I do have some really incredible friends and acquaintances that I see eye to eye with and frequently look up to for their principles and values.

Image

I enjoy reading/writing and taking in information mainly focused on personal growth and self actualization. My most aspie trait and most think its odd and don't understand it. People routinely give me the awkward eye, discount what I say and tell me I look too deeply into things and over analyze the details. But if you wanted to know my best trait, thats It, and truly I consider it to be at worst, a high quality problem.
Since getting my diagnosis Ive pulled further into isolation and while being bit by the lonely bug, My thoughts have have never been like this before. Ive had breakthrough's and aha moments again and again along with the most successful period Ive ever had.

Im looking to find another aspie to chat with, find some connection with someone who thinks like I do. If you want to IM about geography or trains, while maybe Ive read a book on it, there's probably someone better for you on aspieaffection or a post hiding somewhere in this massive thread, otherwise just pm saying hi and Ill write you back.

-Grant

Hi All,

Unlike many of the young sexy people listed above, I'm a bit older. 50 years old, 6'2", Dirty blonde hair, Blue eyes, White goatee, and non-skinny (see the avatar :) ). Interests include web surfing, non-fiction reading, tinkering, diesel engines, sitting at the beach wathing the submarine races. Music ability is limited to playing the radio, on a good day, although quiet is usually prefered. Have been descibed as Grumpy Bear, Baloo, too quiet, too loud, too shy,and a Misanthrope. Also have been described as an old Army 2 1/2 ton truck: easy to feed, more rugged than most, very forgiving, and needing little attention. I will accept most of these descriptions.

The lady I'm looking for should have comparable or compatible interests. If you're looking for a GQ Hunk, you'll be disappointed; finding instead a mixture of Old Trucker, Shrek, Cajun and Hermit. You will be female; not afraid to get dirty sometimes, but can clean up well. Also, you should be understanding of my occasional need for space, and of my 10 hour/day work schedule of 4 - 6 days per week. You do like seafood and basic tastey home country cooking, right? And you do agree that chocolate is one of the basic food groups, right?

guess my time has come to give this a go.... though I'm probably just wasting it but I will never know until I try, here goes...

name: Paul
age: 26 going on 27 but feels like 21
location: North Yorkshire, UK
looking for: any aspie female (though NTs are also acceptable) between 18-35 who are nice really, preferably resident in the UK but not specifically Yorkshire, I am able to drive and I do like to travel a lot, so if we meet we meet and if we don't we don't

I myself am kind, caring, considerate, and polite, none-pushy, respects boundaries, accepts people for who they are, and treats people with respect

Also I do like to take an interest in the things any partner/potential partner likes, I'm not bored all that easy, and I'm not easily freaked out.....

I'm here if you're at all interested :)

Age: 37
height: 6 feet 7 inches, not skinny or fat, proportionally built for my size.
weight: 232 pounds
eyes: grey
hair: dark brown to black
build: athletic, I can still dunk a basketball and run a mile in just over 4 minutes and a 2 mile in about 13 minutes.
looks: Many females cannot keep their eyes off of me, being HFA just makes it difficult on my end to initiate a conversation which is normal for human dating behaviors which are dominated by NT females... still figuring this social mating behavior stuff out...
best feature: eyes and body.
perfect first date: the first date itself.

I am going to move to Texas from Michigan once I get a good job offer.

My name's Davin, aged 22 as of '09 and can't wait for June when I get out of the Singapore Armed Forces.

I was diagnosed only last year and finally came to realize the difficulties that I've faced for the past decade in my social life, and have come to accept it. I don't see my emotional retardation as a liability, because I'm able to see and interpret various things on a more logical level.

At present my vocation is a Signal Operator. What's that, one may ask. I'm like one of those radiomen, those poor sods in the movies who lug the massive things on their backs and be the first one to die. In a great fit of irony, my dad was a sniper when it was his turn, and it was his primary job to shoot either officers, or radiomen like me. Additional note: being a sniper is not a glam job. Five days of lying on the same position, soaked in your various bodily juices, toxic or not while waiting for a target is not fun.

My interests may vary quite violently, from writing about politics, reading about it, or economics, history, philosophy, sociology, and then veer to voracious gaming. I tend to be more of a team-based gamer, and it has shown where I became a semi-pro gamer for about 5-6 years, and got myself some accolades (if you could call them that) by being on the worldwide #16 team on a Battlefield 2 World Tournament, and champion of the Asia Pacific at Battlefield 2142 in a tournament held in Taipei. I retired from that competitive gaming scene and am now leading fleets of hundreds in EVE Online.

That's not to say that I'm not socially nor emotionally impaired. It's just a coincidence that gaming is one of those "special interests" that I, as an Aspie have, and it's far easier for me to communicate over the computer be it the medium of text or speech. And also that I've been incredibly fortunate to have teammates in those competitive gaming teams who respected me based on merit as a player and not on my social skills.

As for my music tastes, it can also veer quite rapidly, from oldies such as Sinatra to jazz, classical (Tchaikovsky) and emo/punk rock. Just don't give me R&B or rap. I can't stand that rubbish.

Furthermore, I don't mind travelling. It's a personal passion of mine to see the world all over, and I'm planning to head to Oregon for college on 2011.

my name is niall, 18 year old bisexual male interested in either gender (women perhaps more), however gay men have to be quite androgynous and anyone will have to be cool with, or even better, identify with, my extremely unconventional sexuality (won't go into details as i think i recall reading that fetish talk isn't allowed) and so, the lack of "real" sex. also, the weirder, the better! i like weirdos. long hair is preferred on both genders.

i'm about 5'11", weigh around 9.5 stone, slim build, long legs, have long (ish) dyed red hair, one blue eye and one greenish eye with brown streaks in it. i tend to dress quite effeminately and wear a lot of makeup. i'd post a picture but apparently i have to wait a few days before i can, so you'd have to ask me for one. i'd consider myself reasonably good looking i guess, i get chatted up a lot by gay guys in bars.

i like going out, especially when it involves plenty of alcohol and some deep, intelligent conversation. provide me the second and you have a friend for life. i like people who think for themselves, have their own opinions, know who they are, don't have to identify with a stereotype or certain fashion trend, and are actually good at something, instead of the average materialistic, uninteresting sheep that i'm slightly too used to.

i'm a musician and have two long term projects- one solo, making electronic, post rock influenced music, and also as the prime songwriter, lead singer and rhythm guitarist in a heavy/alternative rock band, currently nameless and not ready for the gigging stage yet. i also used to play second guitar in a rock band before that, had to quit for uni. i like music that i find very emotionally heavy and sonically experimental.

dunno what else to say... message me if you like. i'm more looking for 18-25 year olds (can cope with a bit older/younger) in the bath/bristol area if possible, seeing as it's where i live. i might be able to do long distance though if i can i'd rather avoid it. but you never know...

anyway... niall, out.

I guess I should put a photo here, except I can't work out how to. Still....if you pm me I can give you my email address, or facebook/myspace profile link and you can add me on either.

I'm a 25 year old male living in Kent, but originally from Somerset, and have lived in South Wales (for uni) and in the North West for a couple of years, and work in the bus industry having channeled my obsession into a career. Having been exposed to people..no, wrong word... having worked with people I'm slightly more outgoing than you'd expect from an aspie...but there;s some gaps in thinking as you'd imagine.

Me: I'm 6'2", and the last time the docs made me stand on the scales last September she said I was 17stone....I guess that just makes me more cuddly. :D People keep telling me I'm attractive and they should be queuing for me...but I can't see them :(

Interests, outside of work include a wide taste in Music (if its a club, its got to be disco house), travelling, going to the cinema, taking long walks along the beach (as I'm living on the coast). I also like staring out of the window, which I class as an interest simply because John Peel put that in his who's who entry. I also have an interesting sense of humour, without which I'd be really lost in this world.

Looking for: female friends in this screwed up planet in which we're stuck in, and possibly more depending how it goes. Maybe the thought of someone with a mild west country (google: The Wurzels if you want to know what that sounds like) accent is a unique selling point, at the end of the day if I don't try I get nowhere and maybe the person who the 'one' that all NTs refer to might be on here.

Feel free to send a pm if you want to know more..or ask here! :)

Hey everyone, well, looks like I'm now one of WP's single people.

I've come to a point in my life where I value understanding and tolerance above the majority of things. And since my relationship track record is very much like a tornado aftermath site, it's hardly suprising where I have gone wrong all my life. I've been dating NTs.

Anyways I'm a open kinda person so if anyone wants to chat to me, please feel free to message me.

Adam xx
