Most people feel the same, semantically, about “Incel.”

Very few lonely men in here are close to being Incels.

Nope you're not Incel.

You're an outlier brain surgeon.

And an outsized sense of entitlement. Nobody owes sex to anybody else. Incels act like they think they are owed sex.

I read the term involuntary celibate was first used by a woman who couldn't get a date, and set up an internet support forum. The number of people without sexual experience is higher than most seem to realise. If they all considered themselves incels, we would have heard a lot more about them before the terrorist attacks. Also, the use of Incel as a proper noun (capital) (abbreviation) does imply membership with a radicalised ideology. You could say "I am involuntarily celibate" without the group name, but that would also be redundant in my opinion. Why would a person choose those words, regardless of the connotation? The word involuntary isn't needed. We don't go around saying "I'm involuntarily good looking", "I'm involuntarily hungry", "I'm involuntarily overweight", "I'm involuntarily related to my uncle", etc. Likewise "celibate" implies that there has been a choice made to avoid sexual activity (e.g., for religious reasons such a monk or priest).

Just say you are a virgin, or say you aren't sexually active. Nuff said.

I want Incels treated same as any group. If feminist don’t have to change neither do Incels.

You can’t condemn, the whole group for the actions of a few, I beleive you’ve said that yourself. Any defense you have for feminist can be used interchangeably with Incels. Those forums are a minority.
So weather we condem, all groups for the actions of their minorities or we don’t condemn all groups for the actions of their minorities. You should refer to the, as incel extremists as we are suppose to with feminist extremists. That’s why the word extremists exists.
So until this condemning of groups for their extremist parts is done across the board I will defend the silent incel majority who isn’t bad.

For the first group it’s a positive, happy thing they celebrate and enjoy doing for various reasons. The latter hates it and wants to be having relationships and sex.

So if a medical professional was to describe the later they call you involuntary celibate which is easier to type then saying celibate not by choice.
What if Incel extremists started calling themselves feminist. Would all feminist stop calling themselves that? What if they called themselves liberals, would all liberals stop using it? Can extremists groups take words from the rest of us, is that something as a free society want to let happen?

As they say if you live in fear of terrorist they win, that’s what terrorist want, so the best we can do is keep living despite them. Incel extremists are basically terrorist and by letting the, define words you’re letting them win. You’re giving them the power they want. They’re altering your words and your life.
