Fat Black Men vs Women's pressure to be slim.
My 0.2 cents:
Estrogen causes females to gain weight more efficiently that males. Even Caucasian women have a higher percentage of body fat than men do. Black women do not have the increase social pressure to be slim that white women do. Black men are indeed more accepting of a few extra pounds than white males.
Also, at least in the Dominican Republic ( where I grew up) Men get more protein in their diets and women who make due with cheap starches, so their men and children get a better nutrition.

I.... don't think fatness is genetic.
I admit I didn't exactly read what the OP said, so perhaps it's irrelevant to the topic itself - but my mother's family tend to be slim, regardless of how much food consumed. Genetic metabolism I think.
I eat almost only fattening (is that the word?) foods, and yet even when I eat a lot, I'm always thin. I should eat more, but people (who studied) say that it's weird that I'm still that much thin, regarding the contents of my meals. Since I'm not the only one so in my family, I guess it is genetic.

Actually black woman do tend to have larger asses, seriously!
Not all of them do..... My girlfriend doesn't have a large butt... That I don't 100% agree with.
I don't know about the average size of black women's arses... But I don't think all blacks share the same genetic traits as one group. Black Ethiopians in Israel don't look like most African-Americans in TV, let's say. Just as white people aren't one genetic group, the same goes for black people.

Almost everything about us is genetic. OddGoat said he don't think fatness is genetic. It is very hard to believe everyone is the way they are because of external factors such as exercise and diet. Some people will never get fat whatever they eat and others will find it extremely difficult to lose weight.
There are benefits to believing in what OddGoat said. If everyone believe fatness isn't genetic( regardless of whether it is true or not) would result in more people making effort to lose weight.

It has. God knows I work hard at it. Managing my weight is 50% of my life. Doctors don't know what the hell is wrong with me. I have something that just isn't in the books yet. My thyroid is slow, but still in the range of normal, so weight piles on like crazy, and it's hell getting it off.
Hey, you know what else Oddgoat's mentality does, besides motivates people to lose weight by ridiculing them? It perpetuates a stereotype that anybody with extra weight on them isn't trying, when in reality, they just might do more exercise in a month than people like him have done in several years.
