Congratulations! You two look great together in the picture. I hope it works out for you. I'm sure there will be things like immigration/relocation for at least one of you, should you two decide to move in together, but it just might be worth it. Maybe I'm just too jaded to even consider trying to date someone who lives more than 50 miles (80 km) away, but in your case, it worked. Good luck to both of you.

Seanmw, who says you have to fly? Take Amtrak or Greyhound. Train travel has that historical romance factor (think of old movies), and bus travel has the grunginess that appeals to some people. Both of them won't set you back much, and you'll get to see the country along the way.

Thanks to The Premier Aspergian Singles List I have found the guy of my dreams. He lives in the UK whilst I live in New Zealand. Despite us living at other sides of the world from each other, we're making it work.

He's 19, and he tells me I have inspired him to do things he never thought he could do. He flew a 28 hour flight with two stopovers alone just to see me, yet he has never even caught a bus before. He stayed for a month and has now flown back to England to gain qualifications so he can immigrate to New Zealand and marry me.

I'm here to say that it IS possible for you to meet your significant other, you just need to try! I highly recommend online dating if you struggle to find a partner in real life. A long distance relationship can be painful and trying, but if it is the real thing, it will last and be worth it in the end.

Give it a try. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain. :)

Ah, the joys of youth. Wish I could be that naive again :) Congratulations on your relationship and finding your SO in life. Hope that things work out for you.

Congratulations from an old fogey. Online dating is a bit of a b***h when you're past forty but I'm giving it my best shot.

All I've got to say is that none of my online relationships have ever worked. Have given up on it basically. I like meeting people in real life, because I can take things at a much slower pace. When meeting people online, there's a real likelihood that you're buying into this fantasy image you don't know about if you haven't met that person yet.

I choose to congratulate people who find success, because I would want people to congratulate me when I find success.

Personally I'm happy for them and their success, but personally seeing other people succeed as a couple just makes me feel even more lonely and sad...

I am sorry, however, that it does make you lonely and sad. One thing I found to help me through tough times was through volunteering, and giving of myself to be a difference maker in the lives of other people. When I have chosen to take the problem off of myself and focused to help others through their problems, I felt much better time and time again.

Do what I do.. be on a Board of Directors, volunteer with an agency or organization to help others. There's so many possibilities out there. Check with your United Way for volunteer opportunities if you don't know where to start.
