Aside from not having one why do you guys really even want the hassles of dating?

Focus on improving your lot in life and living self-sufficiently. You'll be much happier in the long run.

yeah

You guys aren't alone. I also wish I had someone to share my good moments and I envy those who already experienced having a mate since I'm 18 and haven't had the chance to try yet.

I suppose all it's left for us is to keep trying...

He's nagging about never having a partner before during his entire life , while you're nagging just for not having a partner for over a year....

You're not making him feel any better lol.

Add me to the list. Never even had a girl as a friend, so much as an aquiantance, and sometimes I feel like an all-out loser because of it. Nope, never kissed, never held hands, nothing.

Sometimes I even feel that my best hope in life is to just give up on relationships altogether, because the odds seem so stacked against me, it's pathetic. :(

Been over three years and I wouldn't call my last relationship much of a relationship.

I think mine are both stemmed from being closed up and having trust issues.

Oh and I'm 26.

I've fallen into the trap of "you should be more experienced, you're 24" several times. This year i properley lost my virginity to a guy and he expected me to know more because of my age. This was the very reason I was desperate to lose it at 22 and wished i wasn't because something horrible happened.

Yep I went through the same crap. I thought having sex (not that I was that stupid) but I thought it would help me be more experienced with relationships and being able to channel my sexual frustrations in the right ways besides relationships. I'm sad to say it didn't work not unless I was drunk but that's another story...

You too? I made two mistakes...two one night stands that I dreadfully regret. So I'm not a virgin...but I might as well be one. I was 29...and at that time I figured (being suicidal then) that if I was going to go, I better know what sex is before I "feed nature" i.e. kill myself. I'm not suicidal anymore, and feel that I am ready for my first relationship now. The only thing that is stopping me is this: I am on working disability - so I feel that I cannot support anyone financially. When I get a full time job, then perhaps I can (depending on the job). So, Hale_bopp and Misconstrue, you both are not alone. Again, I can only wish the best for you as with anyone else whose eyes have glanced upon this site and post.

And thank you for sharing Dhp. I always felt ashamed whenever I told people my encounters for a better word. Most people make strange and presumptuous views whenever I bring this up, they just don't seem to understand. I think it's great with a community like this and you guys that I'm not alone and some of us can understand what it's like even though we can't exactly put those thoughts very well into words. I too experienced much suicidal thoughts and attempts thinking I was alone.

I think I can safely say I am the record holder. It was around Christmas 2008 before I first heard the words 'I love you' spoken in earnest.
And I can say it was more than worth the waiting, the pain and the doubtful desperation.

My girl has chosen me for me and I have chosen her for her. Maybe we are both damaged goods, each in our own way, but our heart and souls are whole.

I've never had a date or girlfriend, everyone in my class have gf's/bf's. Except me... I guess I should feel " left out " but I don't :?

I don't believe in AS' existence anymore , so I don't label myself as aspie. Just wanted to clarify this.

And English isn't my native language, so 'aspie' moments like this are possible....
