We'll celebrate 8 years together in 2 weeks... It's the one side of my life I'm really happy with, although it takes a lot of work sometimes.

These threads are never very popular I'm afraid and I'm very sorry if others feel bad because of them.

We were together for two years, then on and off for another year (though we agreed we were never really apart). We got back together full time, and we're planning on forever. It's always a bright spot and a good thing.

What RainSong said.

For nearly all of it, it's been wonderful, and I wouldn't change a thing. I'm a little lower down on the scale of AS, in addition to going full OCD, so I'm not exactly someone who's generic partner material, but with love, care, honesty, a genuine desire to listen and help, all the things that should define how a relationship is made, not how fast your car is (I don't have one), how big your house is (I live with my mother), and how much money you make (not much).

Forever is how it'll be for her and me.

my bf and I have been together for over two years now... he is very supportive and tolerant of my many psychological complications. He's a NT but with quite a lot Aspie traits :P Our relationship faced big crsis right after our 2yr anniversary, but it's getting better now. So hopefully, we'll be able to get thru all the hard times together and get marry oneday :D

We're long distance btw. I'm in gold coast and he's in Melbourne. We met in Taiwan three years ago during summer holiday, we were volunteering in the hospital in the aboriginals mountain areas. He fly up to visit me sometimes, and I fly down to visit him and his family too. He has a really nice family, I really like all of them (mum, dad, sis, and dog).

Well my previous relationship was nearly 2 1/2 years, and she wanted to marry but I had realized that even though we were together so long, I don't think I was ever "in love" with her. Or if I was, it was for a short time. Once we moved in together and I realized what her habits were, I got really turned off.

Anyways, I've been with my current girlfriend for a lil over 3 months now. I think it's going well as we both want to get engaged, and then get married some day. She's not on the spectrum, but she's got her own problems so we both have our own issues to tend to, and to help each other out with.
a pity the old one didn't work out for how long it lasted.

though glad things seem to be panning out for you in your current relationship :)
congrats

Thanks :)

Congrats to you on 6 months, and I hope that things go good for you too
Thank you :)

Oh, 8 months or years?

Though either way, nice, and yeah, it can take quite a bit of work sometimes. Still very worth it though, i believe 8)

Hmmm, is that what the 3 years reference in your signature is about?

yeah, i can understand that a bit. Wellll, minus the aboriginals/volunteer meet-up :P
me and my girlfriend are also long-distance though. I live in Washington state, and she lives in Indiana. We mostly keep in touch daily via texting.

I initially put the three years on the anniversary of the three years that we'd been talking, as we were friends for a short while before becoming more. Since then, however, it could apply to that as well, yeah, as that anniversary has passed as well. It's a bit complicated, as we were on and off for a year, but we agreed that we were always in love with each other, so three years is an accurate thing to say. The off times didn't really mean anything, and they weren't important.

It's his engagement ring (and his hand, of course).

I feel like it would be vaguely creepy to have some random person's hand there. :)

awwwh, my girlfriend is also pretty much my best :) friend too.
& i just love the sense of deep connection. it's as if before her i never really clicked with anyone else on that level, or really understood what the feeling was that couples around me seemed to be experiencing, i mean like, i'd had plenty of crushes before and some lesser relations, even the odd aspie obsession at one point, but nothing really like this.

she's basically my other half... except much cuter and in girl form :P .
& when she recently pretty much came out and said she wanted to get married and make babies with me someday, i was positively ecstatic :) . 'cause even just a year ago, i'd never have imagined being in this kind of situation, being that i'm an aspie and typically not that great with people, and hence honestly had serious doubts at the time about ever finding anyone. So even now, i still occasionally get that giddy, dazed, dumbstruck feeling seeing where i am now.

ahhh, okay, i'd sorta wondered why it was only simple gold band, but now it makes sense haha :)
