Be it with friends, relatives or lovers: I think that the sharing of food is a nearly universal way to comunicate caring and love for one another. It's probably a great way for us Aspies to get around some of the more complicated comunication problems that we have. So if you care for someone try sharing some food with them. You don't even have to cook. You could just give them some nice berries. :D

I find myself wanting to cook but when it comes to anything like frying, roasting, or anything that requires burning I jump and head to the nearest kitchen exit.

I've been told any number of times that I'm a good cook, but these days the only person I have to cook for is my son. He's very picky and seems to prefer food that's overpriced ,over packaged and has a cartoon character on the box.

I can forget I'm cooking and at times the smoke detector has been my only reminder. Oopsie.

Food is definitely a direct route to my heart. Once I dated a guy who woke me up one morning with a 3 course breakfast - like cooked on the stove. I was really awestruck. It's one of my favorite memories...:)

I understand the advantages of being able to cook, but this is pretty much beyond me. The biggest reason why I don't have much experience cooking anything is because I don't like most of the food that people eat, instead preferring a narrow range of quite plain food, and as a rule won't cook what I won't eat.

So, a few hours have passed since I posted above and I thought I'd just share a concrete example of why a man who can cook is so great. I decided to cook myself one of my favorite dishes which requires a pot of rice. Well, I did and I ate and it was delicious. Then, I kept smelling something burnt, but I'd only get a little whiff now and then because I have a feeble sense of smell. I thought, hm, maybe it's just a crumb in the toaster from earlier or maybe it's outside. Then I thought, well, the dog's not bothered by it....so back to my room I went. Turns out I let my rice cook for 3 hours.

Now my husband's going to come home and smell it because he has the sense of smell of a freakin' blood hound and he's going to fuss at me and there goes everything. Everything. Just great.

Why. Am. I. Like. This. :wall:

I like baking cookies and stuff. I have about a 1:2 failure-to-success ratio as far as cooking.. which isn't so bad. I also have an anxiety-inducing propensity for setting oven mitts on fire..

Maybe you should look into "No Bake Chocolate Peanut Butter Oatmeal Cookies" then :)

Maybe you could start weaning him off cartoon food by covering the cartoons on the boxes in a layer of duct tape. Get him used to eating the same poor quality food, only without being able to associate it with cartoons. Then start slowly introducing and tempting him with tasty non-cartoon brands of food .
& whatever you do, keep him away from Mcdonalds :chin: .

awwwwhz :D !
haha, nicee

Personally i love cooking on stoves. They're easy. I just wish i had more cooking materials to work with. Every so often i get into a creative cooking mood and start getting cool sounding ideas for new foods, but i simply don't have the resources to experiment.
Then sometimes i'm just in a regular cooking mood and want to cook something awesome and tasty to stuff my face with and share  .

It doesn't bother me whether a man can cook or not. As long as he enjoys my cooking.

I can cook pretty well... I've had my fair share of burning food.
BTW: With the women factor thing, I think it's got to do with insticts. the male can provide food and also it's more attractive for a male that can take care of the lady. That's how I see it.
FYI: I'm not answering that poll. To big and scaring for me.

I can cook, do kitchen stuff pretty well. I mostly do American cuisine though. No fancy ass gourmet crap where I have no idea what I'm supposed to eat on the plate.
I like to do grill work mainly. My family loves it when I cook.
Cooking isn't that hard to do. Anyone who has ever done any lab work in chemistry should be right at home in a kitchen.

I've never really noticed the opposite sex taking any interest in my cooking skills. Not that they've ever stuck around long enough to get there.

....

(Your third option is a bit... contradictory...)
