I hadn't read what hyperlexian has written before going to the place I found this but this very much backs it up. A casual relationship is defined elsewhere on the Internet as "friendships between people who enjoy each other's physical intimacy". So I maintain that casual relationships aren't useless but in fact could be useful to satisfy the desires/urges/drive of both people involved without there being any complications or stress - basically a simple, stress-free cure for being horny! That is why I find the idea appealing.

Friend + sex partner = win win!

This will probably get moved to Adult now that I've said that! :lol:

Simple , because one might fall for the other while the other might not , this is the typical scenario of sex buddies. One night stands or escort will provide the sexual pleasure without this risk of emotional attachment.


And I can't see what the point in starting something which its end is pre-determined after x period of time.

Most relationships might fail after x period of time because s**t happens , but at least they usually come to the end when the two don't love each others anymore .

In f**k friendship, you might love him , you might become so attached to him , yet you know that he will leave you for another girl after some x period because this was the agreement . After he leaves you , he will start telling you his sex stories with the new girls ....because ...f*** , he's your best friend too.

Sex buddies is the worst type of casual relationships.

i'd say visiting a prostitute is the worst possible solution, but that is because, in my own opinion, i consider it a disgusting and horrible way to use another human being.

i don't think it is unavoidable. maybe even, the relationship could mtually evolve to something else.... or not. it could also stay the same.

Actually I agree that this is a major danger of FWB arrangements. It doesn't make them pointless in all cases. However, I do agree that this is a major emotional risk . I have never been in such a relationship and would never want to be precisely because of this risk.

i am reluctant to post much of my own experiences on here, because it is publicly searchable. but i think in some cases it can work. it depends on the mindset i guess, and each person's current situation.
