Yikes! Sunshower, don't sell yourself short. Stop this kind of thinking right now. It may lead you down a path that may be hard to extricate yourself from in the future.

Treat each other as equals and with respect. I'm sure you both have good and bad points. The trick is to find the balance so the two of you can establish a healthy and loving relationship. And communicate openly in the way that works for you.

At the risk of repeating myself  it does surprise me their are so many aspies who want a relationship to which a member responds still human etc etc (another thread)

I don't know but aspies going in to a relationship would seem like putting Steve Jobs, Bill Gates and a PlayStation 3 in to a room. Sure the trash media may fall for it , as would many of the shareholders , hell may be even those in management but those in the know and I mean really in the know know nothing much can come out of it more than likely it will end in

I say stick to a product that's near and dear to you , one that your familiar with, one that won't put you on a roller coaster ride or play games with you , not that I have a problem with roller coasters or games though I much prefer to get those thrills and spills via a games controller or a theme park. :)

It It seems your getting a lot of burnt carmel their Sunshower .

I think of the printer scene from Office Space with this one.

Some aspies like tripping as well. Not all of us run from that kind of thing. :P

My analysis - she's running into layers of herself that she's perhaps never encountered in her life, not that she lacks any diligence on chasing self knowledge, some aspects of yourself you will just neither experience nor see, ever, unless the right odd stimulus brings them out. If I have figured the type of person she is - she'll sit back, cool out, try to see it from a more distant perspective, take the problem apart, and she'll likely have this puzzle as well as her own internal mysteries figured out in a few months. She seems cool like that.

aw techstepgenr8tion you think I'm cool! I'm really not haha.

Anyway, yeah I think you analyzed me pretty nicely, I've entered a whole new phase now - I'm way more comfortable with things and I'm hesitantly considering him to be my "boyfriend" and even starting to label him as such. I asked him if I could, and he said sure so long as I felt comfortable with it.

Aussiebloke; he hasn't been playing games with me or anything like that - it's like I've somehow been playing games with him without meaning to and without being able to stop myself. Scary. But I think I'm past the worst of it now as I've managed to figure out a lot of what went wrong in my head. He's been patient the whole time and extremely flexible, which I think are essential qualities for any partner for me really.

At the moment I am calm and settling into things while waiting for him to make the next set of decisions I think. I think now I am waiting to see whether he will want to continue and stick with things over the long haul now he's seen so much more of what I'm really like, or whether he will decide to cut his losses and pull out while it's still early stages. I'm settled in my mind about the whole thing and I'm decided that I'm in it for the long haul if he wants to be. Irrespective of how things turn out though we were friends first and we'll be friends after.

: ^^^^^^^

Well that's nice . I knew you would get burnt with that chef "celebrity " guy . Having worked in %^&*Y kitchen hand jobs and have family in the industry I think it's safe to say their is truth to the chef stereotype especially so if the want to be a "celebrity" one that screams "narcissism"

I think what you see is what you get with a celebrity chef a evil minded greedy narsacistist eg Gordon Ramsay , Nigella Lawson and especially Jamie Oliver

eg It wasn't that long ago (rightly) he (Oliver ) tells his followers try the markets family runs delis etc etc yet a few years latter his telling everybody how wonderful Sainsbury's is and how everyone should be doing all their shopping there!    /

How greedy and indecent is he with a rumoured net worth of A $ 150 million I would have thought cred would be more important than a few more measly dollars. Now his trying to milk it further with his lying tv series "30 minute" diners" 4 course diners under 30 minutes yeah...

It's almost as offensive as Curtis Stones "Coles feed your family of 4 for under 10 bucks"

I guess Jamie isn't all bad he does do quite a few veg meals he even had a vegan special when he had his "mates" over.

So kudos to him unlike the cut snake Ramsay who claims he would kill his daughter if she dated a vego!

Apparently Curtis Stone is a TBL as I suspected :) . I've just finished reading the book and it confirmed my suspicions and than some:

thingsboganslike.com/2010/12/20/204-curtis/ - Cached

It also confirmed to me that my area (TBL housing ) is not an anomaly it's occurring nation wide bogans are moving into the inner city areas!

Having lived most of my life in these areas it was nice to move (purchase) in to a non bogan area (Kangaroo Point) It was really really lovely when I moved their in 1997 mostly old granies and Asian uni students, 8)

the grannies died and the students left due to housing affordability issues than the bogans moved in

I don't mean to sound elitist  I just don't like them plating their "Nova" music really really loud until 4 am most weekends....

^ He wasn't a complete as*hole - just wanted what most guys seem to want I think; an easy lay. Aside from that he seems to be a decent enough bloke, but not my type really anyway. I mentioned the fact that he considered himself a celebrity (it's very subjective really) because I feared it would influence the way he interacted with girls/his expectations of girls, and I believe I was right. The time the whole saga occurred with him happened to coincide with the exact same time I was learning about the negative effects of being well known/famous/ a celebrity on relationship success in one of my psychology courses, so it sent me running for the hills mentally - which turned out to be a good thing anyway.

I think I've learned a lot this year about relationships, dating, and guys in general.
