Creative, however the woman (me) is not thrilled.

I don't know what the Elite 4 is, and my idea of quality time with a guy isn't playing a video game with him.

I don't like Pokemon and I regard it on the same level as Sponge Bob, which I have to admit is a creative cartoon but I would hope my potential suitor be a little more sophisticated than that.

A better way to apply these skills, in my opinion, would be to choose a better video game to do it to, or at least something with romantic undertones like Aladdin, and don't mention anything about making her a character so she can game with you on your team.

Pokemon got such a bad rap for being kiddie because of the ridiculously dorky cartoon. In actuality, it was a fairly strategic thinking oriented game. The concept of capturing and training monsters to fight each other was a fairly novel concept. It certainly was smarter than a lot of the mindless shooters or the car jacking games. Presumably the girl he's asking is into Pokemon or at least video games in general, so there's an element of tailoring the message to fit the person. We also don't know the ages of the boy/girl in question. It could be they're both like 14.
