Sounds like a near perfect evening to me...
Good drink, food - find a movie or something to watch.

Pasta with nothing on or with it is not good food... And if I start drinking gin tonic... I will be so drunk...

I dunno. I've lived off worse than plain pasta, least it's warm and filling.
& gotta make the best of any situation!

Either go out to the singles thing, or stay in, or find something else to do.
Make your own luck!

Valentines day isn't so bad. There's a ton of bar events for single folk.

Also, the day after is the cheapest day of the year to buy candy.

Thing is I want to go there but how am I going to talk to girls and not even be able to buy them a drink? They will think I am a goujat.

Then they girls will understand why you can't afford to buy drinks? Poor students and all that, right? :D

This.

Personally my least favorite holidays are Halloween and NYE. I think I hate Halloween more though because it's the day after my birthday and usually celebrating my birthday falls out of favor in place of Halloween parties which I had none to go to anymore after college anyway but people still make such a deal of it.

Just go to the pub. Whats the harm? The only way you are going to get better is by putting yourself out there and not feeling sorry for yourself. I know things can be tough but just go. If you go you have a much better chance of turning your day around than not going at all. Just give it a shot. Even if you don't know what you are doing you will eventually figure it out by putting yourself in these types of situations.

If you're in the United States, Valentine's Day isn't the most depressing day of the year. April 15th is.

I know what you mean. It would be far better if you had someone to spoil.

Oh well, I guess you could always get your mom a box of chocolates.

I am broke. :(

My father thinks it's funny to starve me in order to 'Teach me modesty and simpleness' (Not sure how to say this in english)

What do you mean? That your dad won't give you money? I don't think it's your parents responsibility to give you money when you're not living at home. Maybe your father wants you to work for money but I think that's off topic.

With regards to not having a girlfriend, I've never had one and I'm 30. So at this point, Valentines Day doesn't matter to me.
