No, don't tell her about AS on the first date. Keep it light. This is a visit to the sick - you might stay only half an hour.

Well, I sent her an initial text asking how she was doing and stuff, but she never responded. My friend told me not to send another one so soon because that might put her off. I really don't know what he meant, but I listened because he has experience in these matters.

Wait a day or two. She might not be well enough to feel like replying. Then try again.

If i'm ill, I find it hard to reply to texts. I wouldn't give up. Just wait a day or two.
Did your text need an answer or was it a statement? Sometimes it's hard to know what to reply too.

I asked her how she was doing.

If anyone is still paying attention to this, here's an update:

I talked to her in class today (we had yesterday off), and she told me she had been sick with a cold all weekend, which she had been coming down with the previous week. She made no mention about my text so I guess she didn't get it or something......

So, I'm trying to plan out the date when (hopefully soon) we go out. Any ideas? I was thinking about doing it during the day. I liked the idea of a hike, because I know a good place close to where I used to live when I was little, but maybe she won't feel well enough for that, then again I guess if she wasn't feeling well enough we wouldn't be on the date. Sorry, I'm just rambling on.

I also want to thank you guys for helping me. I sometimes feel dumb having to ask all these things when I see other people my age looking like they all know what to do in these situations. Truthfully, I have never been so concerned about a girl like this before. It's sometimes overwhelming, but exciting too. Just thanks to all of you.

I'm not too sure about the hike idea, i think kinda depends on how well she knows you, i think you might have to gain her trust a bit further before you go off into an isolated location together, but i suppose if you've been talking to her for quite a while and she feels comfortable with you then i'd say its a good idea.

Go for lunch? It's a good first date because it's not too full on.

I like the idea of a hike, but maybe a walk in the park instead (due to it being a more public place). Maybe meet for coffee then go for a walk.

I never would have thought of a hike. There's two feet of snow on the ground where I live :x

Does she have a sense of humor? If so, you could try a light-hearted, silly date. The first date my BF took me on was to go "squirrel fishing" where you get a fishing rod and some line and tie peanuts to the end. You go somewhere with squirrels and wait for them to grab onto the peanut, then try to lift them off the ground a bit, then give them the peanut and they scamper off. The whole thing was quite silly, but the squirrels were cute and it's hard to be nervous or too serious when you're out doing something like that :) You could bring an umbrella if it's not supposed to rain too hard and see if the squirrels will come out in the rain.

lol. The first thing that came to mind when I read this was the Big Bang Theory episode where Sheldon went indoor rock climbing.

To mangos:
That's an interesting idea to think about, a "silly" date. I don't know if I could come up with something that would work, but hmm...

Haha, thats a pretty clever idea

My immediate reaction was that it mite be too informal, to the extent that if i were to do something like that my date mite not take me seriously, it depends how well you know each other i suppose. or if u both seem to share a slightly immature sense of humor it would be a safe bet. something a bit more conventional to tag along with it would make the date more "complete" i'd reckon. i don;t know, mabye i'm looking at this from a strange angle

of course this isn't my date, but i've been pondering on first date ideas for the future as well recently
