Habanero sauce. Tomato sauce. Garlic.

There are all sorts of delicious vegan pasta sauce recipes,
but I can't taste food if it's not spicy, so I would stick to that theme.

The peas are a nice touch. :)

I am a vegetarian and there seems to be no end of flavoursome things to eat. The biggest problem I am having with being vegetarian is trying not to get fatter...

Anyway re: misogyny/misandry well it all needs to stop and people need to start regarding each other as equal human beings and stop all the silly theories.

Bethie: For my pasta dishes, I rarely use meat.

My favorite, and one I got her hooked on, uses a mayonnaise-based curry sauce. You can find a vegan recipe for homemade mayo here. I use the normal recipe, with balsamic vinegar.

Basically, you whip up at least 2 teaspoonfuls of mayonnaise, then let it sit.

In the meantime, you dice up a smallish onion and a tomato.

Heat up a skillet lightly coated in olive oil, then add about 1tsp Madras curry powder and a pinch of kosher salt. Cook it until it's browned, then add the onion. Sautee that until the onion is translucent, then add the tomato. Sautee until the skin is slightly curly, then remove it from heat.

Once it's cooled down, stir it into about 2 teaspoonfuls of the mayo. When you add it to the pasta it'll make enough for two good servings.

When I cook for myself, I usually add about a teaspoon or more of Patak's hot curry paste to the onion mix, and squirt sriracha chili sauce into it before adding it to the mayo. Others need it much less spicy.

ETA: You can make sriracha sauce yourself too. Even better than the store-brought stuff, because you can add Bhut Jolokia (ghost pepper chili) for maximum Scoville units.

Oh, and before you ask: It is definitely not recommended to engage in any kind of intimacy after eating such a meal, without first washing and brushing everything that may possibly have come in contact with the 855,000 Scoville unit pepper.

And I don't cook...

But I would use sauce blanche instead of mayo.

I like to have pasta with either vegetarian pesto, or I make a simple tomato/garlic/onion/basil sauce for it. Also I throw in lots of different italian style veg for the sauce.

I can't wait til I can make sushi for my girlfriend. She claims she doesn't like it, but I don't think she's ever had it made fresh.

I learned how to make kosher sushi in one of my last jobs. It's not only extremely fun to make, but the entire process is very detailed. It's one of the only foods I've ever worked with that you actually want to eat while making it. Now that I think of it, aspie kids would probably love making it.

There's absolutely no explanation put forth for why human beings are analogous with things.
