Yes and they suck. Those relationships seem to end horribly for me a la. the guy cheating on me when I'm gone or never being able to visit my guy. I'm going to try to make sure I'm never in one again. :(

This is why i vowed never to be in one. All the troubles of a relationship without the benefits.

Pretty much. :(

I have two neighbors that were in LDRs. They now have happy, stable marriages. I actually know quite a few people who had happy endings with their LDR.

With that said, like everyone else (local or otherwise), they had previous failed relationships. It works out with patience, commitment, and effort when two people are right for each other. The physical stuff may not be there right away or full time, but if your relationship revolves around sex, it probably isn't going to be lasting anyway.

How long is long? I have a females friend 56 miles away, and we're not serious because I think she's waiting for me to get my life in order (as many here know).

That can vary. In the case of my female neighbors, it was different continents. One married from South America and the other India.

I'm in one, and it went wonderfully for a while but now I'm not sure if I still feel attracted to him. It's ironic because for years I struggled to meet anyone and now I'm in a relationship but struggling to manufacture attraction. I'm not sure whether to 'work at it' or call it quits. I honestly feel ambivalent.
