Hey bro,

I have been on online dating sites as well, and my one complaint is that I get so many girls messaging me who want to meet, I can't afford it all. I'd be happy to take a look at your profile or what you tend to message to the ladies and let you know what I think. Perhaps I'd be of some help. Perhaps not. Let me know if you'd like it.

I have the same problem - I'm afraid my inbox is going to explode!

For the last few months, I've been having absolutely no success at online dating, with nobody responding to my messages.

Yesterday, I finally get a response on OKCupid.

In the message the girl says that I am not who she is looking for and that she wishes me luck on OKCupid.

The irony couldn't be greater.

What?? why are you doing online dating??

You know some abuser/predator or hacker will take advantage of you. Online dating is one of those things I will never do. Like donating sperm.

Thats what we all said in the beginning, then we realized that we were getting older, our chances of meeting someone were lower and you start hearing so many stories about why online dating is wonderfull and somehow you end up signing up because theres no harm on trying, right?.

You´d be joining the dark side after 1/2 years of failure on the dating scene

I'm not trying to rub it in for people who are honestly having a lot of trouble, but I've had very good success with internet dating. I met nearly every single one of my friends and lovers on online dating sites.

Since I have a great deal of trouble starting conversations with strangers in person, but no trouble starting conversations in email or online chat, the online dating sites are my best option. In this way I can introduce them to my weirdness gradually, rather than walking up to them and having my weirdness be the first thing they notice about me. They're a lot more tolerant of my social deficiencies after they've already gotten to like me in chat.

Agreed.

There are zero chances I would find someone I could be with just randomly.

"Oh, hey, you're a feminist vegan socialist who doesn't smoke, drink, or do drugs, and who wants marriage and children? Oh you're asexual, too? And sensitive to issues relating to Autism? What are the chances I'd meet you at the public library?!"

What's weird is that I got a message a lot like that a long time ago. Only it wasn't from a girl I messaged. I merely looked at her profile... Then she messages me back and says something along the lines of "I guess I'm not what you're looking for... but I do wish you luck in finding that person." :? I was a bit bewildered. Then I changed my settings so nobody could see that I looked at their profile.
