And why the "- Never date the ugliest woman at the workplace because no other woman there would date you later. (new!!) " would be true.
Is an unattractive woman decreases the man's attractive she's out with and makes him less desirable?
Or do other women assume that since he went with the least attractive girl then he's desperate hence less attractive?
Tell us about the evidence.

Afterword, I decided that some women see it as a competition. They don't want to compete for someone with a girl that they think is obviously below them in attractiveness. They equate the male with their partner and decide that they must be out of the league of the man who would consider seeing someone they consider to be inferior to them.
I agree all the points which I made bold.
Actually, these are very clear explanation. But however, I can only see things in a way that based on my experiences and the books I have read. Therefore, I cannot represent all the women on this point.

Yay sweeping generalizations! Maybe some women feel this way, and maybe some men feel this way. However, this is not universal. I honestly never take an ex gf's looks into account when dating a guy...I date the guy if I like him. If anything, it boosts my self confidence to think that I'm prettier than the last girl ;P
On topic, a wonderful line a friend of mine said (in front of his gf at the time!): "Always go for the ugly girls, because they'll feel so lucky that someone wants them, won't ever want to leave you."

I think I actually mentioned that it was just a generalization?
I dunno, if some girl just got done dating a 400pnd man who smelled funny, I would think twice before touching her. Horrible as it sounds, I can understand it in the extreme.
