How to tell her you don't like her clothes / makeup?
Don't date her then.
Clothes are a representation of who someone is. It's like dating someone then trying to change their personality.
I dressed like a whore as a teenager. My parents told me over and over again that skirts to short that tops too low.
It wasn't until I found myself and who I actually was that I stopped.
You can't force change someone.
Prince William managed to change the tastes, manners and dressing habits of Kate. Why can't I?
Kate Middleton is not a working class girl. She is a university graduate with a middle class family if I heard correctly. It's not the same. Plus she has royal expectations to live upto.
When they first started dating she dressed like a middle class girl. Now she dresses nice. There must be a way to do that. He taught her so much.
I don't think he did. A stylist probably did, or she was royally "groomed"
And a girl is more likely to make an effort for a royal empire than some random aspie guy.
Middle class != working class.
Trying to make working class into upper class is just really like asking for a miracle unless you're teaching a 5 year old.

Or Professor Higgins (and even he only created the appearance of it.)

Many middle class people dress like working class. Expensive clothes don't mean class. Indeed it can be very vulgar to wear certain type of clothing even if it cost you 2000 Euros.

Instead of judging me and throwing rotten tomatoes at me, can't you give me some kind of advice?

My family may not be the royal household but I am pretty certain that they will disinherit me if I introduce a girl who behaves like middle class or working class to them.

Here's an idea: Date someone you actually like and don't want to change, stop relying on your parents money, and be who you are, not what someone wants you to be.
And by the way:

"I like what Vanna was wearing today ... so classy and feminine ... and hardly any makeup at all ..."
The idea is to compliment other women for their clothes and makeup while not mentioning you girlfriend's choices at all. Eventually, she will start looking the way you want her to. That is, if she doesn't throw a fit and give you the old, "Well why don't you just go ahead and ask her for a date if you are so tired of being seen with a fat old cow! WAAAAAAAAAAH!"

If you feel judged by some of the comments you are receiving in this thread, imagine how some poor girl is going to feel if you insult her appearance.
I think the only safe way to do it, if you must, is to hide it in a compliment. For example, wait until a morning when you see her without makeup or her hair overly done, then tell her she looks beautiful just the way she is and that you don't understand why she hides behind makeup or that the 'natural look' really suits her. (Understand, though, that many women use makeup as a crutch and will feel 'naked' at first when not wearing the amount or type they are used to, so not everyone can easily change. It's not like turning off a light switch).
But, then again, I'm working class myself, so what would I know about decorum? lol
Thread starter:
Your parents won't like her if she's working class regardless of how she looks. Why are you trying to hide her in upper class clothes? What difference does it make? You can pick someone's class up through more than just clothes.
The point is, if you're going to be "disinherited" by the way someone dresses, they aren't going to like her any more in posh clothes if she's not upper class.
Just don't date working class girls if its a problem.

Thanks!

To the others. When I like a girl it's not because of her clothes, it's her personality, smile, face, eyes etc... Clothing is just the step towards making her perfect!
As for my parents, clothes are not the main issue, it's behaviour. They'd have a heart attack if she said 'Pleased to meet you' instead of 'How do you do?' which is the way to do it.

You have to understand something, Oldfashioned. You're talking to, by and large, a bunch of Americans. And the whole concept of social class just isn't prevalent they way it is over there. So when you talk about 'lower class' and 'upper class' like they're oil and water, you're gonna get little sympathy and a LOT of eye rolling from our side of the ocean.
