It's not really about "surrendering power," it's more about girls these days are different than what they were even a couple decades ago. I'm sure that something like that would have been seen as an awesome gesture by women over 20 (I personally think so, but then again, I'm not a girl! ) but depending on how outgoing this girl is, she probably saw it as being weak (even though it's a brave gesture). I would only know this because I did something similar and caught endless hell for it. I know, women are all different, but a lot of them in this day and age have this in common: they just don't like being told through notes that a guy likes them, unless the girl says something first. Face to face is preferred but even that doesn't work depending on the guy.
At this point, E-FrameZenderblast, I'd say to say another day like what you already planned but if she hasn't responded yet, yeah, that's not really a good sign so far.
