While I support inter-cultural and inter-racial relationships with all my heart, I must say threads like this remind me of all the problems that can arise when people aren't seeking a compatible individual but a stereotype. News flash: not all African women are the same! Not all African-American women are the same!
Personally, I think getting to know a woman from your own culture (US) will be much easier than meeting a foreigner. Also, westerners often have this idea of non-western women (be it Africans, Asians, South Americans or even Eastern-Europeans) as being easier to deal with (because they are non-materialistic, submissive, etc). Now, news flash: just because a woman is from a culture that your culture sees as more patriarchal, it doesn't mean she's "easy to deal with". I live in Eastern Europe and I know many extremely materialistic women, not to mention women who expect you to look like a movie star AND to give her absolute freedom. Or the women who cheat, or women who are prejudiced against Americans.
There are also great girls, decent, intelligent, great girls. But just like in your own culture, it all depends on a girl, and not her race or country.
