I'm a little the opposite I don't like to get emotionally close to people. I can't handle having an actual relationship so I find it easier only having sex and nothing else. I've given up on getting married and having kids I really like my space more than I'm willing to ever sacrifice. My only fear is getting pregnant. I'm super safe about sex on an almost OCD paranoid level. If I were to get fixed 75% of my anxieties over sex would gone. I'd be more willing to have more sex than I do, right now I just kinda causally get laid it's not often enough. I've recently come to terms with the fact that the chemistry needed to make me comfortable in a relationship is extremely difficult to obtain few exist that would be a fit for me, and I may not get married in my life time. Right now I've only ever met one person who fit the personality chemistry with me and that man is 22 years older than me. He lived the kind of life I feel comfortable with. He has no children and pursued a career he was passionate about. We're only friends but he's acknowledged the fact that if we were aged in the same decade he'd want a relationship. I wonder if I'll ever find a young man as special as him. I think I'll be one of those people who gets married in their 40s. Which I personally have no problem with.

he sounds like a good fit for you. i there no way he will try to make it work?

We actually spend a lot of time together but we've adopted a more father daughter like relationship even though I've tried to court him, he looked me straight in the face and said the age difference was just too overwhelming for him. If he had a kid when he was considering it they'd be my age. It kinda blows his mind. The other day he said to me his age is really starting to sink in. He in an almost weeping voice confessed that he felt really old. Our friendship just might be his midlife crisis. He's getting closer to his 50s and I'm early 20s. He's being really realistic. The relationship we have now is probably better. I think he finds it more rewarding if I treat him like a dad rather than tauntingly be seductive around him all the time. Even though I struggle with relationships the relationship I have with that one single person is the strongest I've ever had. I almost wish he we're my dad. The only problem with the father daughter thing is that sometimes he says or does something that turns me on. Not purposely he's on of those charming guys that are kinda magical. I have to keep impure thoughts out of my head so I can continue to be his friend. It could be the reason why I'm even more inclined not to develop relationships besides sexual orientated ones with other people. Not that I'm complaining. 8)

Even i am attracted towards older guys i like the mature type of person who as seen the world who is practical and can guide me

Presumably this attraction comes from the fact that i had a bad relationship with my elder brother and father. There was no father figure in my life
My hubby is quite naive, immature and childish. I crave to have a balanced, stable and mature guy leading the way for me.

If you feel the same kind of connection with older and mature men then marry that type of men only or you will end up regretting like me.

I love the whole intimacy of a close relationship, but having quite a hyperactive sex drive doesn't really help my situation. With my ex, I had to wait for him to be ready. I did so of course out of respect, but my god hormones have a strong impact on day to day life.
Also sex is enjoyable, and the main reason couples bond due to the release of oxytocin after the act. I've never had strong feelings for someone I havent had sex with, a crush maybe but nothing more. The only guy I have had those feelings of love and euphoria being around was the guy I did sleep with.

:o Because of my health challenges my interest is generally in having a female companion who's interest are the same. The relationship would mostly be doing things together like movies plays eating out maybe even dancing with some teaching. All relationships don't have to be romantic everyone is not a like. Maybe even trips if the desired dsetinaion is the same :>

I can certainly relate to this. I am a 38 year old virgin who has never had a relationship. While I would like to maybe experience coitus once or twice, it's not exactly something I would want to do every day. However, I would want to be in a romantic relationship with someone who is of the opposite sex and shares common interests and traits with me. I'd also prefer separate bedrooms, with at least one of us having a larger bed in case we decide we want to visit the other person.

I want both romance and sex. I'm much less shy when it comes to sex than I am at the other aspects of dating, though... sex on the first date doesn't scare me at all, but trying to keep up a conversation, conveying my body language the right way and so on at a date can be very awkward.

I love feeling vindicated. 8)

EDIT: you changed your response. not sure what you think you're proving. most people get married and don't seem to mind it.

I'm saying this thread just proves so much of what guys need to do to be attractive.

Be successful, be of a higher social status than the girl you seek, be dominant.

Also shows that the "friend zone" is a horrible place to guys to be in. It is a place of profound indifference and makes you likely to be used.

Are you employed? Are you self-sufficient? Start from there and keep progressing forward. Money really does buy "love".

That sounds pretty selfish to me.

if you don't want to be friends with a woman, then don't. but it doesn't make friendships with women objectively worthless.

i historically make more money than most people i've dated, and sometimes i am older than them. some women's preferences don't translate into all women liking certain characteristics.

no more selfish than a person seeking casual sex with no relationship. each to their own - a relationship (even one based on sex) means different things to different people.
