No, it's a celebration only for the couples.

I think It's stupid for a single to celebrate it.

Nope. I don't celebrate it. Feb 14 is just an ordinary day for me.

Yes I do. If I'm single I attend an anti-valentine's party and if I'm taken I'll spend time with the fella. This year I'm taken but my bf's car doesn't work and he's trying to get one. We may end up missing it completely if he can't find a way down to my house. Dammit. >.<

No celebration here. For one thing, my partner's birthday is just a few days afterwards (my ex was actually born on Vener- er, Valentine's Day) and it gets awkward to buy two cards/presents so close together. But mostly we just don't see the point.

It's not about love. It's about spending money on a load of crap to show how much you love someone. If you don't, you're clearly an unloving evil person (either because you've no-one to buy it for, or you don't care about the one you do have). Or at least, that's what the greetings card industry seems to want us to think. I'm not so insecure that I need a piece of cardboard from my husband to show me he cares.

I celebrate it by staying single.

Well, for Valentine's my wife and I are going to the shooting range. You know, romantic morning out with lots of lead and a scent of cordite. Beats the snot out of roses and candles. :D

I haven't been in a relationship yet, let alone on Valentine's day. But when it does happen, I will celebrate the crap out of Valentine's Day!

And if he doesn't like V-day, then I'll happily do all the planning. We'll go out somewhere nice for dinner, someplace that has great wine and amazing food. Like The Red House Beer and Wine in Renton, Wa. They have an awesome selection of wine that's to die for, and the food is spectacular!

Then we'll go home and get down to bidniz.

Last year i posted on facebook the day after: "crap, my non existent girlfriend is pissed i forgot what day of the week Valentines day is on"
more than a few people didn't read the post correctly, hilarity ensued.

i'm trying to come up with a better joke this year.

We don't do the romantic Valentines Day thing anymore. I get candy for the kids and a box of it for me and my husband, but that's it. I celebrate After Valentines Day. Thats the day that all the leftover chocolate goes on half price and I go stock up.
