Yeah, interesting idea. Just skulk around a bus stop all day and chat to random strangers, just act like you're waiting for something.

Seriously....don't do that. Cops will start watching you.
I get that Outrider was being sarcastic but the thing is, a lot of people act like this is a good idea.

A lot people say "dating sites aren't the right way to get a date" then they continue with "you should just introduce yourself to a lot of strange girls you've never met and then ask them out and odds are eventually one of them will go out with you".

Then when I tell them the idea of me doing that makes me feel really nervous because I'll probably get into trouble they reply with "Oh you're just being shy. That's why you don't have a date. The best way for you to overcome your inherent shyness is to ask out a lot of random girls you've never met until your shyness goes away".

Not a good idea. I know people don't use those exact words but that is what people mean when they say stuff like that. It makes me so mad that people talk like that's the solution.

I know a lot of people got a girlfriend without using a dating site. I don't know how they did it but I think it's probably not that way.

How does one "meet" people on an online forum? All you people are just text. I swear, some of you people come up with the strangest ideas.

Sell your stuff then. That'll solve both problems.

You start PMing for awhile & then meet up.

Why would you PM a random forum member in the first place? I don't get it. :|
I don't want to bore you with questions you probably find senseless, but I feel it's on-topic. Or at the very least not so far off-topic to be considered a derailment.

I completely agree Sabreclaw. I dislike the idea of online friendships or relationships and it feels far too unnatural to me.

I prefer real, human emotions and real-world connections. The most i've gotten from WP is some good aqcuaintances.

If you see a girl at the bus stop wearing tight jeans with a coat with a fur collar, wearing boots and smoking a cigarette; she may likely be a prostitute. *Waiting for angry comments from girls on here that wear that kind of outfit and smoke* A lot of them dress like that and smoke. How do I know? I'm from Baltimore.

So, if you want a "girlfriend" for a few hours, bring about $100 and wait at the bus stop.

Hi,

Don't worry about saying you're not interested to someone who replies to your profile. Thus happens all the time. You can usually choose a nice, tactful 'reply' message to send them that basically says 'thanks but no thanks'.

Or you can not respond to the message, people don't necessarily expect that you respond if you aren't interested.

We had things in common & related that were mentioned in posts.
