Either way really... I adapt to the circumstances.
Can they be seperate rooms in seperate houses? Note the long distance relationship aficionados.
Are the doors slightly ajar?
Are the windows half open or half shut?

Sleeping next to each other would be nice. Doesn't have to be considered a sexual thing.

I completely agree.

I'd just give a little knock on the wall.

If you are, or thought about living with someone, perhaps in a relationship, would you prefer to sleep in the same room, or each person have their own room?

This may sound a little odd, but I think I would want to have my own space / room most of the time. We could be together in the living room of course , but I think I'd go into my own room too. It could be set up how I like, the other person could have theirs set up how they like it to be. It would be nice to have my own space every now and then, plus I am a sensitive sleeper.

Well, as far as sleeping arrangements go, I'd probably prefer to sleep in the same bed as my GF if we were living together, because she likes cuddling and I really don't mind it one way or the other. However, I'd probably make at least one room of the house into my own personal office, and that would be my private space to retreat to when I need time alone. Besides, with the kind of work I do said office would be filled with high-powered state-of-the-art computer hardware, and the noise would probably bother Kyuuchan seeing as she grew up in a rural household and is used to nights actually being silent.

Then again, it'll be quite some time before our lives allow a living arrangement like that.

Same here.

Same here except instead of office/work I have a powerful desktop I like being on & a pet chinchilla which can be noisy when she's energetic.

ouch, that would be a mood killer. people don't usually like to be "summoned" for sex.

for me, i like sleeping with my boyfriend. he is comforting and i feel safe. he cuddled me to sleep once when he visited in June, and it was a little slice of heaven. i usually have a bit of a "nest" in my house somewhere (like a corner of the couch and a table or a desk), but i don't need much more than that.

i kind of got used to sleeping with other people when i was a child and teenager. my friends and i would always share a bed, so i learnt how to sleep next to another person in extremely close quarters (i.e. single or twin bed).

I like napping together but I can't sleep the whole night with anyone. When I nap I just doze off, and I have a relatively calm sleep, but me sleeping rather than napping is a different story. I toss and turn, I groan, I talk, I grind my teeth, I wheeze, I snore, I fart, I kick and sometimes I stick my arm straight up and just hold it there for minutes, then drop it suddenly. It is not possible for anyone who isn't dead to get any sleep in the same bedroom.

Also I can't bear being hot when I'm trying to sleep, and for some odd reason, my body temperature goes way up when I try to go to bed. I often sweat alot when I'm sleeping unless the room is very very cold. Add another person's body heat and I just can't sleep. I can barely tolerate it when the cat sleeps on the bed when I'm trying to, let alone a much larger human.

Why naps are so different I don't know.

Aside from the sleeping issue, I do just need my own room. It's incredibly important to me. I don't feel grounded without it.

well, at first i had to accept that i would not get much sleep lol. sometimes only 4 hours or so, because they would keep me awake with their tossing and turning and snoring and such. it probably took years to get completely accustomed to it and in the meantime i would catch up on sleep with naps and such.

Unless he or she is deaf, separate rooms. Otherwise I'll be strangled for snoring.

That's such a shame. I strongly prefer to sleep in the same bed as my partner, and I also strongly prefer that they do not snore. I'd actually probably choose to not be in a relationship with a snorer rather than be in one but sleep in separate beds. Sounds pretty bizarre eh.

I'd need a case where both scenarios in the house are possible. I don't really know my specifics of my sleep, so this would be ideal for me. I'd hope my partner would want that as well, so we're able to try and see what works.

I suppose from time to time, you could stay together in each other's rooms.
