I completely agree.

I really shouldn't say this, but since I study Sports Science, I kinda found something out. A large person who smokes, but EXERCISES, is healthier than a skinny person who does NOT smoke, but does NO exercise. The point is, you can be large and healthy, as long as you exercise. However it does not mean that I find large women attractive. I just thought I would say the above. We were always told, "Fitness, not fatness".

Sound like you completely disagree, actually.

Are you a student at UWA? I know someone who teaches there.

No. I agree that I don't find big women beautiful. And I do agree that they just look unhealthy. I was just stating what I was told.

No, I do not go there. Go you :)

All because you are a plus size woman does not mean you are unhealthy.

To the OP: What size do you like? I'm a size 2x-3x in clothing or 18/20 depending on what the store uses. I find it lovely you appreciate us!

I have little idea what size my previous gf wore. I don't women's sizes. She was very over the "ideal" weight, though.

Women don't have to be big for me to find them attractive, but I do like them big.

I'm admitting it now: I tend to find bigger women attractive - not necessarily big-breasted or tall, but big. I went to the BBW Romance and I'm getting a lot more people visiting my profile than I typically do I OkCupid. Since I dated that last girl, I found I like having something to hold on to :D .

So, Erisad and other girls who are a bit bigger - don't worry about it. :)

I am healthy though. I work in a warehouse and am on my feet 40-50 hours a week. I eat mostly lean meats, fruits and veggies. So this whole "fat chicks are unhealthy" stuff is BS. It's true in some cases but not for everyone. I gained a lot of my weight from anti depressants and college food.

I hope you find a lovely BBW for yourself Frieslander. And you be good to her, mmkay? :)

Crunches do absolutely nothing. If anything, do situps, I for example, could do a few hundred crunches at a time but couldn't do one proper situp. The main problem is, though, your abs are stabilizer muscles, the only time you ever do situps in real life is like... getting out of bed in the morning. For me, doing zero situps, after like 3-4 months of squatting and deadlifting, I went from not being able to do any situps to doing 20 at a time easily. But yes, your abs exist to stabilize you while being on your feet, not to situps.

Anyway, the bigger issue is, you cannot "tone" muscles. Spot reduction of fat pretty much cannot happen. So even if you do accomplish hypertrophy in a muscle, if there's fat over it, it won't look "ripped" or "toned" it'll only look bigger. That said, increasing muscle mass can increase your metabolism, and thus you can burn fat easier, but you can't just go work on one part of the body and expect to lose fat in that place. How your body loses and stores fat is hormonal and genetic.

Anyway, I think my cutoff point for a girl and bodyfat levels is about 30%, though usually it's mid to high 20s, but I can make exceptions. I prefer females have like 18-20%, so they look like, you know, women. No thx for "shredded" women. And generally, extra muscle mass, as long as bodyfat is kept to feminine levels, looks awesome on girls. But no, I don't like blob kinda girls. Curves are good, blob is not.

BMI doesn't take into account bone structure and muscle mass, I'd have to be single digit bodyfat to get to even 25 BMI, and I'm not even "jacked" I just carry more muscle in the lower body than most people.

So women, if you want to accurately assess your weight and fitness level, rely on bodyfat instead. You could easily have highish bodyfat and fit in the normal BMI, or you might surprise yourself.

Well... I'm not one who would date a women who was too much overweight and I'd say the same for girls who are too skinny (like seeing all their bones) mainly because it's not really something I could cope with...
Of course the other way the BBW women should think is that even skinny women who become pregnant also become big as well.

The opposite can happen, too- my bodyfat peaked at around 21% when I was 215 lbs (I'm 5'1").
Lord knows what it is now.

Is "big" supposed to mean "fat?" :?

I'm not trying to offend anyone by asking. I just don't understand why all those websites use politically-correct euphemisms instead of stating it like it is.

"Big" is not the same thing as "fat." If somebody said "s/he's a big person" I would interpret it to mean that s/he was grown-up and adult as opposed to being a child.

But no. Apparently now we're not allowed to call fat "fat." We have to say "big" instead.

Calling fat "big" is just confusing the matter. If the fat people don't like saying "fat" they could at least say "chubby" or "overweight" or something.

BBW is a synonym for fat girls.

In this case, big and fat mean the same thing.

I don't find big girls attractive, but I also don't find anorexic girls attractive. Somewhere in the middle.

Unfortunately all I ever attract are BBW's.

No it isn't. It's an acronym for Big Beautiful Women.

My point is that "big" is not a synonym for "fat." It's a euphemism.

Euphemisms annoy me for two reasons:

1. They initially confuse me because I am very literal in my understanding.
2. Once I understand what the euphemisms are really supposed to be describing, I become very irritated that people don't just say what they mean.

Why has it become practically illegal to accurately describe a fat person as fat?

They are fat. You're only accurately describing their appearance. It's not an insult. What's the big deal?

:?

Here's an example. A waiter was fired from his job for merely accurately describing three of his customers as "fat."

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article ... utcry.html

They ARE fat. What's the big fuss about? He was only speaking the truth. In cafes where there are no table numbers a lot of waiters take note of the physical appearance of the customers and note it down on the receipt and that is how they remember which order is for which table. So I assume he wasn't writing down "fat girls" in order to make them feel sad. He was only writing it down so he would remember which table he should take their order to.

Nonetheless the three fat girls are all weeping like drama queens and sobbing to the press about how "traumatic" it has been for them to be described accurately as "fat," and now the poor waiter is fired. :?

well, I think fat has become, culturally, a degoratory term. Some of them don't like it, and others don't seem to mind. Hence changing to an alternative word.

well yeah, but how many people are actually familiar with that? I mean, "big women" I would have thought.... "big breasts?" Or "big men", I would have thought "muscular men" or something like that, "big men" sounds kinda weird though.

"big beautiful women" is a pretty common euphemistic phrase in north america. the women described as such (and their admirers) don't seem confused about exactly what body type is being discussed.

"big" is a euphemism, but nobody is hurt by it (at worst people may need clarification). "fat" is a dysphemism and people are sometimes hurt by it. it's like calling a thin person "scrawny". if accuracy is necessary, perhaps "overweight" and "obese" should be used as descriptors as they are more neutral. but on a dating site where people are seeking a certain body type, it wouldn't really make sense to call them something unflattering.
