Haha I thought it was a bit uncharacteristic.

People that are genuinely nice can check that there are a lot of nice people dating nice people out there.

Nice Guys™ are very immature, and we have to bear with their lack of maturity and complains every day. Women that can't have a relationship have not constructed this whining infrastructure over the internet.

I'm fed up of this egocentrism on comics, rants, youtube videos, blogs, forum threads etc... about "poor nice guys" and "all the girls love jerks". It seems a defamation campaign against women, you can't open internet without finding this s**t everywhere.

Topics on this subject are usually wrong and worded in extreme(black/white) terms. It's more of a moderate cross between the two viewpoints: "women like nice guys that are nice to them, but are jerks to other people(especially other guys)".

That's not moderate, that's another version of "women like jerks".

I'm sorry, but some of these genuinely nice guys also fit in the category of the Nice Guy.

The Nice Guy, genuine or not, is any guy who relies on himself exhibiting "niceness" (often going out of his way to do so) to attract the girl he wants.

This is not to say that the Nice Guy never has a date or is a virgin or has never had a relationship. It's a spectrum, so to speak. Some Nice Guys are this, some Nice Guys are that, and other Nice Guys are this and that. There are variations but one core thing in common. They all employ the tactic of being unusually nice in order to attract.

That's the way I see it at least.

EDIT: And so to make things clear, I'm not saying that being nice is a bad thing. It's about motives here.

It's moderate cause the jerk is a nice guy from the woman's point of view, so it's a compromise.

Exactly. Some people are really like that, both guys and girls.

Yes - and most women can't seem to trust them. They HAVE to be up to something! It's a trap! It's manipulation! Let's be mean to him and if he shows the slightest amount of anger we can prove our theory correct that he was NOT a nice guy after all... after all, a truly nice guy would never get angry no matter what a woman does to him!

And if he succeeds by not getting mad from our shit-test, he's still not worth taking because he's obviously a wimp who won't stand up for himself.


You see the catch-22 madness we have to deal with all too often?

Venger I think you miss the point - women like guys that are nice to them (in laymen's means they can treat them right).
Some like super nice guys, some aren't fussed as long as they are nice enough and some don't care how nice they are to others as long as they are being treated special - in some cases where a guy is cruel to the world but kind to his gf the gf might feel rather special.

It really differs from person to person.

And I always find it funny how nice guys call any bf of someone a jerk with no real bearing. They've decided from the get go that X is a jerk and will wait til Y scenario happens to prove it.
The reality is most nice guys find most other guys jerks because they are the ones that are manlier, more successful in the dating arena inc. with the women the nice guys want to date. Sure some women do date jerks but read above. It really isn't a guy's duty to be nice to everyone else in the world just because he's in a relationship and the same applies to women. It's not part of the "job description"

Why don't you flamebait some more? There's no need to post unnecessarily childish comments. Either come up with something worth briniging to this thread or don't bother posting at all.

But isn't every man who steals a woman out from under the nose of a 'nice guy' who has put in a lot of groundwork with the woman going to be seen as a 'jerk'? They're never going to be looked on kindly are they?

I'm afraid you are the one being immature. How could you not see the post above the one I just posted? You just decided to react and play to your impulses instead of rational thought. Not something a self controlling adult would do, is it?

Besides, what's with all the swearing at the mods? How is that any more mature than what I just did?



lol no, they are not. But if they had just made their intentions clearer and been less creepy about it it wouldn't have left so much time for someone else to make a move.
