When I had this situation, I just couched it as a "I was just waiting on the right person to share the experience with".. I found it difused the situation entirely and made the other person exceptionally happy.. cause I mean.. what you're basically saying is you consider them so special you're willing to share something with them that you can only do for the first time, once.
