2 weeks later her relationship status changes on Facebook to in a relationship. Being lied to makes me not wanna like you.

"We can still be friends." This is what she said next time I saw her after I wrote her a love note (eighth grade). She didn't actually say it, she sent her friend to tell me after she read it. Cliché and a lie.

once got turned down apparently, and without a hint of sarcasm, because i DIDN'T have acne, that was a weird one. fast forward a couple of years...

Upon being approached about making me look like a fool in front of everyone
"We are too different, I couldnt discuss why I did things without knowing who told you about this and you couldnt tell me who told you without discussing things first"

Me: "Would you like to go on another date next week?"
Her: "Well, I kinda planned to go to the movies with the girls. If that doesn't happen I will call you."

Needless to say it turned out to be another flake.

From another person: "Here's my number, I guess you can call me sometime" and she give me a fake number!

But I think my own is worse: "Well, work is keeping me really busy right now so I don't think I can take a distraction." To a guy that I actually couldn't stand because he was a libertarian and talked all the freaking time I'm not too proud of that, but it happened, and at least he was a "normal" confident guy so he moved on pretty easily.

One of my favourites:

"if this was two years ago, I would be in a relationship with you." Or "You simply came at the wrong time in my life."

I understood that as code for "Someone else in the picture."

"I would never date someone outside my own culture."

"You're too flaky."

after years knowing the girl.. "I just can't fall in love with someone so quickly" .. despite countless professions of love including one the next day

"There are plenty of other guys out there who would love to date you" - this was one of the things my last ex said when he delivered the "break-up" speech. I consider it lame because if there WERE other guys out there who were interested in me, they sure weren't showing it.

I've gotten "I'm not ready for a relationship" only for her to go back to her douchebag ex. I also have gotten "I see you as a best friend and I don't want to lose you as a friend. " which turned out to be a bold faced lie considering she ended up getting into relationship with someone else less than a week later and tried to hide that from me. Some "best friend" huh?
