I think others covered why she regards it as offensive but I'm wondering if the wife ask him if he's still single or has he gotten a girlfriend ye. Those questions are gnerally acceptable in NT land coming from friends you don't talk to much as part of general conversation but some say that in a negative way to be a b!tch. It can be hard for us Aspies to understand all those types of differences.

Are you still single and fapping on porn every Saturday night?

What's the difference? Most wives try avoid having sex with their husbands any way their can; "I have a headache", "I'm too tired", etc. At least in America. Married or single, sex encounters are still few and far between.

That is so sexist. I have a bigger sexual appetite than my boyfriend and I daresay it shall stay the same when we're married! Women who hate sex with their husbands shouldn't have married the guy to start with!

Yup. Consummation of the marriage is inevitable, so physical compatibility is important, too.

Actually, that is a valid point.

The way I see it is this: If it's a personal question and pertains to a situation that is personal to her alone and has nothing to do with you... It's offensive. Not only is it personal, but asking a question like that is seen as not respecting boundaries.

How would you feel if you had a girlfriend, and one of your (female) friends kept asking :
"Are you still with that girlfriend ?" and "Have you dumped your girlfriend yet ?"

Would you find that annoying, inappropriate and/or offensive ?

Marriage is like a hardcore version of a relationship, so imagine how you would feel about the above scenario and multiply it by say.... 4

Then, you will have arrived at your answer to this question.

One more hypthetical I can think of why he ask is if the wife has been telling him about her realtionship problems & how it may come to divorce of that she suspects he'll divorce her otr that she thinks she'll be divorcing him
