The man I fall in love with.
The man who makes me a better person.

Honestly, I'm unsure about what I want in a man.
I have some ideas of course, I know what I don't want in someone...

lemme give this a real try

personality-wise:
intelligent
questions everything
open-minded and non-judgemental
confidence that borderlines arrogance (really dumb but true since I, like most people, can't stand arrogance most of the time)
enjoys nature
enjoys novelty
interested in possibility
puts up with me
silly sense of humor

unclear what I like for their interests specifically. I always go after the geeky types, but I'm not sure interest in that is a necessity.
I think it ties into the list above, like someone who doesn't like sci-fi doesn't like the exploration of novel ideas or possibility

looks-wise:
on the short side, like under 5'6"
shoulder-length, thick, dark, wavy hair
deep brown eyes
slim athletic down right down to skinny

any color and most any healthy build, but in particular due to recent events, it would be somebody about 5'9" and blonde/slender/willowy but taut and fit, with ice-blue eyes, who loved the hell out of me and wanted to marry me yesterday. I can dream, in any case.

Had I made a list of what I desired in a mate before I met Bobby, it would have paled horribly to the real deal.

I threw away the laundry list when I was in my late teens
Now my ideal woman only comes in distant dreams
Whether they are wet or weird
Never finding her is something I don't fear
Dowsed in melancholy I deal with it
Sealed with the fact she's unrealistic...

My dream woman - she doesn't exist. It's that simple. I'm too weird and have too many flaws. And I'm straight, folks.

I'm describing my late fiance here. What are the chances I would ever meet another like him?

Is effing brilliant.
Irreverant sense of humor.
Is honest and loyal, kind and gentle.
Likes to tease and be teased (in a fun way, not passive-aggressive complaining disguised as teasing).
Likes to be silly. Sometimes really, really silly.
Can talk with me for hours about anything and everything, real and/or imaginary.
Has a lot of masculine energy but is actually more sensitive than most women.
Encourages me to step outside my comfort zone.
Can disagree with me without getting angry (intellectual debates can be fun!).
Is up for trying anything once.
Can make any shared activity fun.
Doesn't care about dressing/looking fashionable.
Needs plenty of "quiet time" and allows me my own. Is comfortable having "quiet time" together, e.g., reading or watching mutually-agreed upon videos/movies.
Can fix anything.
Likes to design/build fun things like potato cannons and trebuchets (and will let me help).
Likes anything mechanical/motorized/electric/gadgety.
Likes lots of physical contact - both sexual and non-sexual.

Physically:
Is tall - as in over 6'.
Doesn't have to be "I work out all the time" fit, but being strong is good.
Is my age or a few years older.
Is reasonably attractive.
Has kind eyes and a nice smile.
Has a voice that makes me want to listen to him read me the phone book.

At this point if I am physically attracted to them and they are not way below average intelligence and very girly to the point of being annoying I really can't imagine creating a dream girl scenario it just won't happen.

I will just take what I can get.

its too bad women don't like short men. As in the shorter the better. If that were the case, id be getting all the girls. I'm only 5 ft 2. So i'm the shortest of the short.

Maybe I should move to the shire, and hang with the hobbits. The average height of a hobbit male is only 4 ft 10 so I would fit right in.

I've been 5'8" since I was 11 years old, so I've always felt huge and awkward. I'm pretty sure that's why I like tall men - they're the only ones around whom I can feel dainty and feminine.
