The "girls" (i.e. mostly men looking to make a buck) make fake profiles, seduce people on the sites and hit them up for money and once they get it block the profile and cease communication. I know in middle school some of the kids made a fake profile(s) with an image found by goggling and would message random people, set up dates and then laugh about it.

At least one of them got expelled for soliciting naked pictures using a school computer.

LOL, they'd quickly lose the will with me. There's no way I would ever give anyone money over the internet. Actually, I wouldn't give them money, end of.

Thanks for the info. I got messages from girls that I did not respond to, thought they were fake. You confirmed my suspicions. Why would somebody make a fake account and randomly message people on these sites? What is there to gain?

It's either cat fishing or trying to catch someone they suspect of cheating.

I'm also noticing that most of the scam photos are being posted by people whose location is shown as Taiwan. So maybe guys in the U.S. and Europe don't have to worry so much about it......unless you're looking for a mail-order bride. LOL

OTOH, it never hurts to be careful. I got two more obviously fake or spam messages this morning.

Weird, though, I've only been on there a little more than two weeks. I guess maybe I've been overly active.

I'm interested in knowing this too. Why on earth would they create a fake profile? What is the purpose?

1) Scammers.
2) Guys pretending to be girls.

I once got randomly selected for the OKC moderator thing. Basically it shows you flagged messages and profiles and asks you to vote on them. I suppose the ones with the most "Delete" votes are brought to the attention of the actual site admins.

I spent hours doing it, though. So many hilarious hours.

What are your tricks, do you guys use fake profiles with fake pics to meet more people?
I must either be one of the ugliest people in the world or it is incredibly bad luck.

The trick is in knowing how to present yourself in the most honest and positive light possible....good pictures, good profile, and good messages. It's something I'm very good at doing on paper, but unfortunately not so much in person.
