Double post. Sorry.

About the only time you will ever hear a married person say good things about marriage is when a single person criticizes marriage.* Otherwise, all they do is complain, complain, complain. The reason that they change gears if a single person disses the institution is that they suddenly feel like a total chump, and no one likes to feel like they got suckered.

*Parents probably also say nice things about marriage when trying to convince their kids to get married.

For the most part, people say nothing good about their spouses, either. Just listen and take notes and you'll soon see what I mean.

That said, I don't think that the social pressure has disappeared at all. Married people resent single people for the reason given above, and they want to make sure that everyone has to suffer like they do.

I'm starting to conclude that maybe I have no idea what this thread is about, unlike I was originally thinking.

Feel free not to get married. I doubt anybody will pressure you to though.

Lets see, me; married 27 years, with 4 kids and a grandbaby, a house of our own, our ups and downs but we know each other inside and out.

Oooh, I just looked at your profile and some of your old posts. You are a guy who will never get a wife like my husband has, or possibly any wife. Thats ok. Hate all you want. Bitterness from others doesn't bother me.

I'll never have someone who continually trashes me in online forums and resorts to ad hominem attacks against everyone with whom she disagrees. Yeah, sucks for me.

Your alleged 3-minute review of my postings doesn't impress me in the least.

You don't know what you ever have in the future until you get it, do you? But I honestly think you should have gone with the past tense there bud, "I've never had". LOL! Sorry. Sucks to be you. He's pretty happy actually. He doesn't give a rats ass about online forums, because he has a life. And a wife. And everything else.

Look, I don't know what you are thinking or are about to say, but you know what? I don't care. I'm fixing to go lay down on the couch and watch The Tudors and eat chips and guacamole dip that I got from the Mexican place and I'm not going to give you or this conversation another thought. Meanwhile, you stew over it ok?

This is exactly what she did to me in a thread she started. As I told her, I'll keep it civil, but AMEN for your synopsis. If you or I responded to her the same way, we'd probably be banned.

BS. I can hold my own and also choose when to quit giving somebody attention as well. I don't need people to be banned because they hurt my feelings. My feelings are my responsibility, not the responsibility of the forum or the mods. I'm pretty sure the mods know this about me because I've probably gotten in mean arguments with almost every one of them at some point in the past and then when the argument was over, it was over and we were cool with each other again.

I can't really see anybody ever getting banned for cussing me out on here, and if they did, I would probably be up in arms about it. Unless it was some kind of rant that would offend a whole group of people or was threatening (and I don't even care about threats, I can handle that too, but it doesn't look good on the forum for that to stay there).

As the thread just appears to be a slanging match it has been locked.
