Are American men as amazing as they seem on TV?

In terms of character I'm very similar to this Hollywood male:

We're also the same height, same build, both have beards, both suffer migraines but whilst the good Dr Grissom is into bugs I'm more an electronics man. I'm a diagnosed aspie where as Gil Grissom is just probably on the spectrum (he's definitely not a 'people person as Catherine Willows will confirm). We do however differ when it comes to a choice of partners, he chose Sara Sidle where as I consider Catherine Willows to be hotter than fire.

Now the interesting coincidence, my girlfriend is a CSI 8)

It depends on which type of American man you mean. The ones near me work blue collar jobs, wear jeans and tshirts or plaid flannel shirts, some still have mullets but most wear ball caps, they usually have dirt under their nails, they wear work boots. They drive pickups which may or may not be clean. They don't shave every day. They smell like sweat a lot. They drink a lot of beer. They only show emotion when somebody insultus them or their football team or during college ball games. Their mating call is "Wait in the truck" or "Hey you need a cold beer?"

It may be different up North, I don't know.

Not all american males are shown like this on TV, not in comedy for instance, Homer simpson anyone? She's just describing the protagonists of rom coms where the directors have interest in turning on the female audience.

It's like saying that "american women are well endowed, model like, hungry for sex 24/7 and always get the hottest male" based on porn...or rom coms.
