I think I'll try ann's she has it worded more nicly
I like to spend time in the sunshine, walking in the park or camping. Going for hikes. I like cuddling up on cool fall nights to watch a movie. I am a bit of a gaming and scifi geek. I'm 6'4" with brown eyes and hair. Looking for someone to share the joy with.
does the added part about the gaming and scifi fit well or should it be somewhere else?
craigslist, it's kind of a sewer. Sort of the latter-day bushes in the park.
About the hiking, no need to get crazy about it. Just wear long sleeves and pants, tuck pants into boots, and give everything (including your hair and the back of your neck) a good spray with heavy-duty insect repellent. And check yourself (or have someone else check you) afterwards. If you've been bitten, go to the doc to get the tick out, or do it yourself if you know how and keep the tick for testing. If by chance you are bitten and don't notice till a bullseye shows up, just go immediately and get antibiotics. Most people don't get tick bites while hiking, and of those most don't get Lyme.
If the area's totally infested, I might pass on hiking, but otherwise you'll be fine.
I think the hiking/camping sounds like an important part of who you are. I wouldn't worry about it. If you leave in an area with many lymes carrying ticks [ when we lived on the shore in New Jersey years ago, my kids school was on the national news because one in five kids was sporting an IV.
Here, in Colorado, lymes disease is not really a problem. As a matter of fact, when I mention Lymes out here, some people jut give me a funny look and ask if I am actually referring to "Rocky mountain Spotted Fever"[also carried by ticks]
. And, I hesitate to say this, but maybe you should include the fact that you are looking for a serious relationship. I do like someones rewording of the "have a car" mention, because, actually, most women just assume you do.
Also, if you mention the college degree, there might be an assumption of a high paying full-time experience of some sort. I wish you the best of luck. Take a deep breath and have fun.
In my 26 years of life I've never seen a tick. but one of the you tube people I watch go bit and he got lyme disease from it. He pulled the tick out and then forget to watch the bit area.
If i got a tick i'd go to after hours panicked to hell. But apparently one can't even feel when they bit you. and they can hide on clothes. so you have to dry them few times to kill.
how does one know if a place is high in ticks?
some reviews of the place said it was, but can't know how old it is. sprayed tick repellant on me the last time. I went.
the idea of a tick's heard buried in my skin is terrifying.
as for the ad I'll have to post it tomorrow too late now.
I've gotten more messages on cl then the dating sites.
