Hmm, well I've been fortunate with counselling and psychotherapy though as you point out it has its limits. The only 'bad' professional I encountered was a psychiatrist who was quite cold amongst other things.

I haven't had much luck with counselers myself. Most of my experience with them was before being diagnosed with Aspergers, and I had to go through a few mis-diagnoses and medications they had no business putting me on. I was told that there isn't realy any kind of help for me other than practicing and learning social skills "by rote" (not sure if I spelled "rote" right). There is a local guy that is supposed to have experience dealing with autistic spectrum people, I'm hoping to get set up with him and give counseling one more shot.

I'm sure some people could write a book on misdiagnoses. Doesn't sound like your support has been that helpful Arbie, I hope this local guy is better. Read something in a textbook the other day, fitted me exactly but then I guess we can let our heads think things like that, hmm.
