Green Bay has an NFL team, despite the fact that their population is only about 100,000.

I thought I remember one was when I still lived there, maybe its more for parents/children I dunno never went to it. Like over the Aurora place in Wauwatosa. Kind of wish I did, I wasn't ready for it tho and there isn't hardly anything out here despite having 4x the population.

...Yeah , because it's kinda/sorta socialistically owned " by the people of Green Bay " !
I think .. I'll have 2 look up the exact details .
Otherwise , " Packer Backers " and cheeseheads or no it woulda gone the way of all NFL teams , " toward the bright lights ", away from Titletown ! !! !! !! !! !!
At least when I was there , Green Bay was known as this quite conservative , Catholic , town...which , however , according to my BF* there then , (he was quite proud of this) boasted more nudie/tittie places per capita than New York (" Good ol'/bad ol daze " NYC , remember , HomeBoy) ! !! !! !! !! !! I think a lot of the femme companions of mine buds/acqaintances would have gigs there...(Or , anyway , I can think of one? two?? , and it sounds more colorful that way ! :P :!: 8))
*- " BF " was meant as " Best Friend " , not " Boy Friend " . Not that there's any---- oh , come ON :P ! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !!

Yep...I believe that's true. I am under the impression that every Green Bay resident owns a "share" of the Green Bay Packers.

I remember people like Bart Starr and Vince Lombardi.

Alright, about time! Any chance you're near the Sheboygan county area, and interested in starting a meetup group with me?

So are small ones.

I went t local forum's meetups before, this what happened every time: People who already know each other before the meetup (already friends, or met before) formed cliques - and those who weren't part of any clique felt alienated, me included.

I know there will obviously be some level of awkwardness involved, we are aspies after all and social awkwardness is a fundamental element of our interactions. That doesn't mean this can't be lessened with proper structure (games, activities, DRINKS....etc). We are just going to have to be ok with enduring some uncomfortable feelings at first meeting new people but those feelings will subside as we get to know one another.

Besides socializing and mingling I would like to discuss some of the struggles we face in todays society and ways we can help make life easier for people on the spectrum, especially kids in school. Ideally I would like to discuss topics to present during lectures at local highschools aimed at minimizing bullying. I would also like to discuss suicide among aspies and youth as I feel there is a strong link between autism and depression and possibly even suicide.

Basically I would like to start taking a more proactive approach in enriching lives of those affected by ASD's with the help of fellow aspies. As well as discussing adult life and career modifications that are more accommodating towards aspies.

If you are 30 minutes from Milwaukee, there is a lot more north before you hit Canada.

It wasn't an aspie-related meetup.

On the Interstate, it's almost six hours to Duluth, MN from Milwaukee, so I'm guessing 5 hours to the Minnesota border. And maybe 4-5 hours to northernmost central (longitudinally) Wisconsin.

Crazyfool: ever thought about being a volunteer fireman? There's a book about this guy who was a volunteer fireman in some small village in northern Wisconsin. He thought Eau Claire was a big city!

Being a VF might indeed be a good idea (And , hey , I'm the one who , at a much older age and much less ~ To say the least ! ~ buff a bod than CF , fantasized about " painting sheds in an Indian reservation in Kansas " so I fantasize about " simple , physical " communal-ish/organized life life) , but did he speak of it ???

Just moved from Michigan a couple months ago. Would have met up if I had the chance. Been to one before and it was an interesting experience. We drove from NYC all the way to Toronto to do it.

We moved from Michigan to California. My husband's parents live in NYC, so we drove there, and then we drove to Toronto to meet the group from WP.
