If a woman messages me then I know it's a bot. Same if it says Someone liked me back.

I get mostly bots as well, but a few real people have slipped in. Never actually met any of them though.

I have no accounts on any dating sites. For some reason I believe that there are some bad men on those sites such as criminals, serial killers, sex predators who only seek their preys. I know it sounds ridiculous but I'm serious and I think some women on those sites might have the fear I have..

You're no less likely to meet those criminals, serial killers(who are VERY rare FYI), and sexual predators anywhere else than an online dating site.

A lot of guys like this are masters of disguise and could easily fool an Aspie(or even an NT)woman like yourself if you came across them. Anyway, do as you wish.

Its the bottom of the barrel for today's dating sites but hey you get what you pay for, nothing. You got to lower your expectations for free sites which are so easy to scam on. Not too many people will pay to make fake accounts.

I've been on POF before, and I have noticed that when you enter your zip, and choose the distance from you in the drop-down menu, it will bring up people from other towns, that are way further than that distance. To me, it's either done intentionally to make it appear like there are more matches, or it's poor programming. Either way, it's annoying. I have actually met a few people on there, but they aren't someone I would date.

How do you know they were real then?

The messages were more unique. It just more likely those were real than any other possibility. Also I had one add me on facebook. She still rejected me though.

I can get responses on Okcupid but not POF. *shrugs*

Doesn't matter though, because the ones who respond either won't meet me or lose interest as soon as we do meet.

Getting to the point of meeting someone I person is progress. And it only takes ONE. The right one, yes?

Good point, when you find the right person or relationship, you realize all the struggles and hardship was worth it.

Very true although I wish I knew she was coming. I was completely beaten down and nearly wiped out by the time I met her but it was WELL worth it!

Still, doesn't mean that POF is a highly toxic pond to be fishing in for both men and women.

Good for you and good riddance to that POF account! That website is grimy from what I hear. Online dating in general is a chancy situation.

I never had any luck on POF & I didn't get along well with members in their forums. I didn't have any luck on OKC either thou & lots of members I got high matches with there had very conflicting things in their profiles.
